"My opinion of this vehicle is just terrible. I bought mine at 113,000 miles. 4 weeks after purchasing it the transmission went out, 2 weeks after I got it back, the water pump and fuel pump went out also. This car rides rough like an off road jeep or something. Not Dependable at all!!!! And would not recommend to my enemies."
"I bought it 2 years ago with 179000 miles and use it to go everywhere as my main transportation. Have only had to replace ball joints and CV axles that were original parts just a couple of months ago and #5 spark plug coil pack which I replaced myself. No major repairs and has never broken down on me. It is well worth the 3K I paid for it!"
"6 years of nearly zero problems with my Escape hybrid. Killer driver in the winter here in MN, no problems at all. I can get 31mpg if I watch my driving. Tough vehicle with plenty of room. Yes, it has that standard SVU look, but for a light SVU it's great. Nearly as good as my Taurus, love it"
Pros: "Looks good inside and outside, comfortably seating"
Cons: "unreliable breaks down always and expensive to fix"

"Bought the car from a reputably dealership and after two weeks of driving the engine blew. Too fix the engine it cost $4000 plus labor. never gunna buy an escape. If you want to haul anything you'll have more room with a sedan."
"I bought this car used with 165,000 miles on it. For the first 6 months was fine now it's one break down after another it's been towed of the side of the highway 3 times in the last three months. I've owned two other fords and they were the sames way .seem like once a ford is more then 6 years old or has more than 150,000 miles they just turn into a money pit. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD NO MATTER HOW GOOD A DEAL !!!!!!!!!"
