Pros: "Great price, comfortable, prestigious."

Cons: "Low gas mileage."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I love my Crown Vic! It is so comfortable to drive, with lots of leg and head room. I have routinely taken 400 plus mile trips in this car and arrived fresh. While the gas mileage is not comparable with recent models, it is still pretty efficient and has a lot of "get up and go," when driving on the highway. The CD sound system is great! The AC/heat work fine. I have maintained the car according to the manual so everything works well."

Pros: "RELIABLE!!!"

Cons: "NONE, wouldn't change a thing"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"The only satisfaction I have is knowing that is possible for a company to manufacture a vehicle that is beyond reliable. Sold to coworker with 283k miles 2.5 years ago - he now has 350k on it and recently had to replace the original transmission. There is not enough space here to discuss how reliable the car is and continues to be. Sadly Ford stopped making them - I guess buyers expect fancy technology that will not work and cars that are disposable so there is no longer a market. This car had the handling package which was amazing - dual exhausts, special rear end ratio, air suspension. Everything worked, sensors didn't fail, light bulbs didn't burn out - wow, really?! If you have one of these you will never find another one - believe me, I look daily and they are not around or have not had an easy life."

Pros: "For the money they are a great buy."

Cons: "Only downside is they stopped making a wagon in 91"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This is the fourth Crown Victoria Police Interceptor I have owned in the psst 25 years. You can buy police use, gov't used or on occasion you can find one that was always in private hands which fetch higher price tags. As always they have not let me down. For the money they are a great buy. Parts are abundant and cheap, easy to maintain and repair and a great value if you not looking for all the fluff. Only downside is they stopped making a station wagon in 1991. Mine is now almost 9 with 91000 and runs great. It was used in Utah by a DA, so it was driven under normal conditions."

Pros: "Looks like unmarked police car, cuts down tickets"

Cons: "Original paint job has not held up well"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Fast, low-slung, controllable pursuit car. No wonder the police used so many! Combined with the taxi fleets means the parts will long be available for this no longer produced car. Repairs are less costly and more simple than many vehicles. Most police and taxi companies report +/- 350,000 mile lives when properly maintained."

Pros: "over all great comfortable vehicle"

Cons: "abs module trouble. voltage regulator trouble"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This is my second crown Victoria. The first one being a 2001 and this a 2003 both being former service vehicles. All the problems ford had with the earlier version they fixed most of them on the 2003. Great smooth rides. Not to bad gas mileage (17mpg city, 23-25 hwy), very spacious. Large truck area. Most maintenance and repairs are easy if your a do-it yourselfer and if not most parts are inexpensive. Overall I would recommend the crown Victoria or any of the ford panther series to anyone. Some common problems include: * abs module failure. Abs light stays on. Abs won't work. Not really a safety issue. It is a dealer only part and will set you back around 350$. Its fairly easy to replace yourself. *voltage regulator. Its a small problem. Your voltage gauge will jump around at times especially on acceleration. Get a new alternator or have yours rebuilt. New will cost about 200 rebuild around 120. *stiff steering, notching steering. Most people who encounter this assume its a power steering issue, only to replace it and not resolve the issue. A few sprays of white lithum grease on the steering knuckles under the hood will solve it. Cost 3$"

Pros: "Reliable, comfortable, ample space."

Cons: "Poor trunk design."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I bought this car because I was working as a retirement counselor and needed an ample back seat along with a car that would be easy to get in and out of for older folks. I also have a dog who is beginning to have arthritis and needs easy in and out, and I myself have back issues and needed a comfortable ride. I don't have any significant complaints about this car...it is comfortable, rides great and has a huge trunk. A minor quibble is the trunk design; if it's raining and you open the trunk, water streams in off the trunk "lid." Additionally, the cup holders were much better on my prior car, a '99 Mercury Sable. But overall, I would definitely buy this car again and highly recommend it. As the mechanic at the dealership always tells me, I got myself a "fine vehicle.""
