I own this car - My approximate mileage is 172,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "mpg, dependable, engine quality is superb"
Cons: "cup holders are poorly placed, battery location"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"Purchased used in 2007 with 90,000 miles on it. Used it all through grad school and it is now up to 172,000. Only routine maintenance and minor repairs needed. Only problem I had with routine care is that the battery access is in the driver's side wheel well - this is only an issue if changing the battery. Currently only problem is that the A/C is not working. Has been a phenomenal and dependable car for the past 6.5 years. Still runs like a much younger car."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 165,000
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "Full power, great driveability"
Cons: "Interior console design"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8
"I bought my Stratus 4 and a half years ago with 100k miles. I haven't had any major issues with. Mine is the 2.4L 4 Cyl engine. I only had to replace the oil pressure sensor, driver side shaft and regular maintenance (oil changes, spark plugs, etc). After almost 5 yrs is time for struts to be change.Stereo upgrade next. The interior lacks of finnese and style. Pwr windows, Pwr Locks and driver power seat still working fine. Some rust start showing up last year and is close to 170k miles."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 146,000
overall rating 3 of 10rating detailsLikely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1
"This car was a bad idea from the get go. The engine is mount sideways because of the front wheel drive meaning a lot of things are displaced so normal things that should be easy to fix like a bad battery have to be take care of because you have to take stuff apart to get to it. Besides that this care has just been one problem after another. I got it secondhand from my stepmother and had to replace the water not long after. It just broke down again not even a year after the water pump repair. Even brand new I don't think this car would have been worth it."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 216,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "good mpg, comfort, (was) reliable, zippy drive"
Cons: "small-not well placed cup holders"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I got this car for $200 from my best friend. replaced the hood 'cause she had hit a deer, everything else was fine. bought this car at 160,000 miles and she now has 216,500. this car was comfortable, reliable, fast, great handling, easy to get my 2 1/2 year old in and out of the back. rear driver door handle broke, and the rear passenger handle close to it. recently while driving it, it just dies, the rpm's just go down, still has power to everything else, and when almost to a stop it just sputters out. taken to a mechanic, he can't figure it out even with the diagnostic tool, replaced the o2 sensor, because the diagnostic tool said that was the problem, still had the same issue. i absolutely love this car, and i am sorry to see her in such bad shape."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 105,000

"I have owned my 2000 dodge stratus since 2003. I got it when it had 42,000 miles on it, it now has about 105,000. It runs great, I never had any issues with it breaking down on me. There was a few things I had to replace in the car, hoses, struts, timing belt but that was normal tear and wear. The only few gripes that I have with it is that 1. the cup holders are useless 2. my cigarette lighter stopped working (can not charge my phone) tried changing the fuse, did not work and 3. sometimes my music "hiccups". But I hope the next time I buy a car it will be as solid as this one is."

"This is the worst car we have owned in 6 years. The other day we got our water pump fixed and we went to pick it up. When I started it it would barely start and idles very low. On the same day we went to a friends house and the check engine light came on. I do not recommend this vehicle to anyone who is interested in buying a used sedan."
