I own this car - My approximate mileage is 132,000
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "very cheap, works, decent power for the money"
Cons: "Looks a little ugly, old, some maintainence"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6
"Although it is nearly twenty years old, the dodge spirit my grandfather gave me for free has worked just fine for me. It doesn't look great and if you are looking for luxury you won't find it here, but if you are a new driver and want something that gets you from point A to point B and doesn't cost a fortune to get insurance for, this car is for you. It does ok in the snow as long as there is no ice and it accelerates quite fast with the v6 engine. It handles quite nicely, and although the engine isn't hugely overpowered compared to newer cars you can still lay down some rubber if you want to."

"worst car i have owned i go this car when i first got my DL in 2008 but it has cost me close to 4000 in tires and fluids the past 4 years now the transmission and engine are both cracked and leak like crazy not to mention overheating constanly. I have replaced to much on this car i will go through a set of tires every 6 months on this car stay away from it. This car will break you and i have replace 8 starters in 2 years on this car. It only has 145000 miles on it."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 189,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsLikely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I love this car. I have a 92 Dodge Spirit that I purchased four years ago when it had 135000 miles on it. Over the last four years I put over 50,000 miles on the car and it has never disappointed. The only work I have ever had to put into it was routine maintenance and minor work. The car was fantastic in the winter and I drove it through several blizzards. It is cheap and easy to fix with parts readily available. It had a comfortable interior which made it great for long car trips and it had a good sized trunk. It has good gas mileage considering its age. The only draw back that I saw was that the paint job did not hold up well over the years. The clear coat seems to have worn away and from the Spirits that I have seen, it appears to be a fairly common problem. Whenever this car dies I will have no reservations about replacing it with another one. Great car. Feels like an old friend."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 130,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Smooth Ride"
Cons: "Low fuel milege for a 4 cylinder."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"This is a great car for people who like to work on their own vehicles. Everything is extremely easy to fix or replace. Even better is that rarely anything ever goes wrong even though my car has had a rough life before I got it. Fuel mileage is acceptable with a maximum of 29 mpg, but the ride quality and handling make up for it. With a few tweaks I have been able to exceed the factory power rating by advancing the timing and using 93 octane fuel to increase fuel mileage by 5 mpg."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 115,000
overall rating 7 of 10rating detailsLikely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I have owned my Spirit since 2000 (before that it was a company car). It has been a solid, dependable vehicle for me. I have replaced quite a few parts (like any old car things have gone wrong) but no major breakdowns. I was always able to fit the repairs into my schedule - no surprises, which I appreciate. I have replaced the muffler (2x), starter, exhaust system, water pump, all 4 shocks. Mileage tends to be low to mid 20s in the city but I have gotten up to 35 on the highway. I plan on driving this car until it dies. Since these cars are no longer made, I wouldn't get another one but it is a good college/starter car if you can deal with mid 90s styles and lack of some newer features."
