"WHEN I LOOK AT TODAYS PRICES AND COMPARE WITH QUOTED VALUE OF THIS VEHICLE I FIND YOUR VALUE ON THIS VEHICLE SERIOUSLY LOW. THE TRUE VALUE IN THIS CONDITION IS MORE IN THE6000 TO 7000 RANGE. BUT IT REALLY DOSEN'T MATTER IT HAS A HOME WITH ME OR MY SON WHEN I AM GONE"
"For a long time a was a ford only guy, One day i stumbled upon a Green Dodge ram 2500 with the famed "CUMMINS" engine. Let me tell you, it was the best choice i ever made throwing down the cash to buy this truck! Reliability, power, simplicity. Cant be beat. They will go forever if you maintain them, literally. Driving dynamics take a bit of getting used to, Sloppy steering is something to look out for. Also as far as interior goes, its typical 90's Dodge, but my Sport model is well equipped, But the drivers seat degrades fast and usually tears. These little issues couldn't deter me from buying the hardest working engine for the money, wrapped in a beautiful tough RAM 2500 Body. Do yourself a favor, And get one."
Pros: "Diesel great load puller, Sport opt comfortable"
Cons: "Interior quality suffers, noisy (it's a diesel)"

"I was delighted to find Dodge made the 2500 with the Cummins diesel in a sport package. It was the right trim level including leather, heated seats, cruise, electric seats... Mine was 11 years old when I bought it with low mileage (~133k). It had been a part-time work horse for an amateur racer pulling his car trailer. Being a 6-speed it is a little more involved to drive. The torque allows starts in 2nd or even 3rd gear. If I'm heading down a decline I use 3rd when there is no load.
The truck gets great fuel mileage. However, don't expect more than 17 around town. Highway numbers climb to 22 and above. My only modification so far is a free flowing exhaust (4") with lower restriction muffler. It isn't too loud and does help the fuel economy/torque. The truck weighs about 7,500 lbs so fuel mileage is great considering it weighs a lot more than the highest mileage gas trucks. But, don't try to have a conversation with passengers if the windows are down or if you are standing outside while it is running. This is the loudest diesel I have owned so far (excludes exhaust noise).
The interior quality lacks a bit. The dash pads are very well known to crack then break away. The plastic gets real brittle. Fortunately there are replacement units available now that will not break again. Dodge never fessed up to their deficiency which is real disappointing. Honestly, it was a huge factor when I bought a new car as this is my hobby/sport vehicle hauling the toys. I would not buy a new Chrysler product considering this and some other brand issues of late. I say this candidly as I have been this brand's fan since I first started driving in 1975.
Back to this truck, it has been good overall. I had quite an issue with the A/C and the front wheel bearing had to be replaced. These are not trivial matters as I thought they would be. Also, the rear axle seal went. Being an older used vehicle I cannot attribute this to the brand necessarily.
As you would expect, it pulls heavy loads with ease. I once pulled a full-size pickup with a rope and thought the rope snapped because I could not feel the weight pulling back. I was pulling it along at an idle with complete ease. Pulling a loaded car trailer is nearly effortless. You do feel it but very manageable and in control."
Pros: "the dual rear limits your parking/drive-thru's"
Cons: "rust in fenders,doors,some rocker"

"The truck has rust in the front fenders and lower doors. the bed and flares are rust free and dent free. The tailgate is nice. It has a painter ARE cap and bed liner from day 1. bad rear bumper (rusty) very good tires and runs /drives beautifully. back door don't open, no cracks in dash, seats are nice, driverside alittle worn. interior is clean. tinted glass looks very nice. power widows, overhead console, etc all work as it should. Gets 20.5 miles to the gallon!!! Don't need this much truck anymore, well worth putting new fenders and doors on and repainting the fenders and doors and rockers."
"No rattles,no problems, tows my 5 different 5th wheels easily. You cannot beat a dually for towing. Anyone who says their regular truck is great for towing has never owned a dually. Cummins rules.I bought her new in ,01 and haven.t had one problem with her......"
