"I traded this car today because after 12 years and 185,000 miles it seemed a bit much to spend $1000 to get the AC fixed in a car that KBB valued at $1,500. I have been very very pleased with this vehicle! She was reliable, running strong at 70+ mph all the way to the dealer today (albeit a hot drive in FL). I have heard that Neons have not faired well in automatic but I was very please with the reliability of the manual."

Pros: "32 MPG, No mechanical problems, Smog tests perfect"

Cons: "No complaints."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"Bought 2000 Dodge Neon new on sale for $3,000 off MSRP. It's an ES model with sunroof and manual transmission. Installed aftermarket alloy wheels when new. Cloth interior still in very good condition with the high mileage, not worn through or ripped. Paint clear coat starting to wear off on roof. Never garaged. No rust. Changed oil every three thousand miles and performed recommended maintenance. With 196,000, car uses one quart oil between oil changes. Replaced clutch once. Had timing belt changed every 80,000 miles. NO mechanical problems! Smog tests show very little change since new. Car has NOT been babied. Sunroof cable broke at about 125,000. Factory design defect as cables are cast in plastic and easily break. Car is stock and excels quickly with manual 5-speed. Wish they had offered a a six speed. The automatic is slow. Best part is that car gets around 31 to 32 MPG around Southern California "City". Window sticker said 36 MPG Highway. Neons became a "girls" car so Dodge stopped used the name tag on the SRT4."

Pros: "got for a cheap price, fun to drive"

Cons: "price and waiting time for parts"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"so far I have had very few replacements which were all the previous owners fault. I have the 05 acr edition. only 1,7XX of these editions were made. I love this car. so many people underestimate this car. I couldn't be happier. car has a lot of power and great steering for a fwd car."

Pros: "Dependable, good price, roomy, fun to drive"

Cons: "Poor turning radius, no cruise control"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have owned this car for nearly 10 years. It has always been dependable and has had no major issues at this point. The only drawbacks about this car is that I do not have cruise control and it turns like a boat. I would recommend this car to anyone!"
