"Bought this car 6 years ago as my first car with a little over 100k. My only real complaint with this car is the emissions system that plagued my check engine light for a few years, its to the point I ignore it now. Also the power window guy on my drivers side has gone out twice. But, I bought this car for 3k and have invested about 3k in repairs over the years I think it was a pretty good investment. Now itching to get a replacement"
"Comfortable, roomy, huge trunk, good fuel economy and still looks very contemporary. Have had very few problems with it mechanically. Air conditioning has developed a line leak and no longer works, trunk remote switch no longer works and most of the door seals are falling off. But that's it, not bad considering it's age and location."
Pros: "If still made: Great value, handling, good power"
Cons: "Some known Dodge Intrepid issues with age"

"We bought this car, our second Dodge Intrepid, when our family and work needs demanded a car that was large, comfortable, good on difficult roads, good on long highway trips for business or with my wife and 3 boys, and good on gas mileage. In addition to all of that, we wanted a car that was a good value that would not be a burden to our budget for upkeep or normal operating expenses.
For 14 years we got all that we asked. The last 2 years were catching up to the car, although maintenance was still a lot less than a car-payment. I believe for a good mechanic this car will give a number of good reliable years and still be one of the best looking cars on any road. The body is almost flawless, handling is great, the finish is still very nice, and it is a superior road car with a nice engine and great balance. It is as quick and nimble as much smaller sports cars yet it is comfortable for 3 adults in the back seat.
We think Dodge made a mistake by not continuing this body style. It actually looks sleeker and more modernistic than some of the modern inverted bath tubs. Because it is low and my arthritis is a factor, we decided no move on to another car and pass this car on to someone that can enjoy the rest of its time. If my picture downloaded OK, you will see the 13 year old right beside a brand new car we were considering. Good job Chrysler/Dodge."
"A nice driving, comfortable car with constant engine trouble. Water pump is a big problem to change.. it's known for going out. Mine... 3 times! The transmission and the engine also have reoccurring issues!!! Electrical issues also. I'd call it a lemon. After google research, others agree."
