Pros: "I love to drive it!"

Cons: "It could use a second cup holder."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This has been one heckuva good little truck for me. Mileage in the 18-24 range consistently in town. The body and bed are holding up real well so far. I had a 1990 Ranger previous to this Dakota and, though it was a great vehicle, was terribly rusty when I sold it. Not so this truck."

Pros: "Body really holds up"

Cons: "..........I can't think of any...........LOL"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have owned a lot of trucks in my life ( I am 59)and this one far exceeded my expectations for dependability. The body really surprised me - it is 13 year old Pennsylvania everyday driver, & has just now started to show rust ! The AC still works great too..... That afte 230,000 miles.................... what could anyone complain about :)"

Pros: "Power, Value, Towing, Ride"

Cons: "Gas Mileage"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I've owned my 2004 Dodge Dakota crew cab 4wd since 2005. This is a great truck! It rides like a car, and the 4.7L Magnum V-8 has plenty of power. The only con is the gas mileage. Without my fiberglass cap on, I can get 18 MPG. With the cap on I only get 15 MPG. I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone looking for a solid truck with a comfortable ride."

Pros: "Great 4WD; handles better than many sedans."

Cons: "Major cons are fuel consumption & poor front brake"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Only complaints are the truck was designed & built with undersized front disc brakes; overall unacceptable fuel mileage, but then Dodge/Chrysler tend to run behind the pack for MPG. Overall best feature for me is the unbeatable 4WD; can run in 4WD at highway speeds and has never failed or disappointed me. The rear drums/shoes have never needed replacement. Just found first minor rust spot on rear fender last year; minimal surface rust on leading edge under bed and tailgate has some rust. Truck was rust-proofed when new and has been kept seriously cleaned & waxed. ALL painted surfaces have always been waxed. Looked at a friends 2007 Dakota today and was shocked at how the rear fender wells are rusting out!"

Pros: "It goes everywhere with 2x4 or 4x4 low, 4x4 high."

Cons: "no power locks or power windows"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 5

"2003 Dodge Dakota 4x4 quad cab. Engine has 101,000 miles. Engine had recent tuning with new battery, spark plugs, rotor/cap, oil change, one fuel injector replaced. Running on 5 cylinders whereas #2 cylinder requires change of burned valve. Rest of the truck in decent shape. Some rust on both back sides. If you are a mechanic or have a trusted shop. It would take less than a week of shop time to replace the valve."

"This 4x4 midsize truck has been great! It took 9 years before I had to replace the battery. The front brakes were replaced at 70,000 and I still do not need rear brakes. There is full time AWD and in 4-wheel drive with high and low it will go just about anywhere."
