"I bought my truck brand new in AZ. I have had next to no trouble mechanically, had to change the battery once. Normal in Arizona. In 2007 we moved to NW Arkansas. It has always been garage kept and became a farm vehicle. I use it to haul hay, feed, trailers and animals. We use it to do any travel for comfort reasons. I average 18-21 MPG and repairs are just tune-ups. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone not needing heavy duty vehicles. My only regret was not getting 4 wheel drive. I had no need the year I bought it."

"I have wanted a Dakota for a long time, but could not afford a brand new one. I just bought this used within my price range. It is everything I imagined it would be... Strong, stylish, comfortable, and fun to drive. I drove a 1st Gen 03 Tundra for the last 6 years, and this Dakota is much roomier inside, feels more responsive and sturdy, and actually acts and feels like a heavier grade pickup than my Tundra. Some improvements to interior decor (too much low grade plastic and hard to reach storage bins and holders), but otherwise very nice."

"I cannot believe how much I like this truck, especially since I'm a diehard Chevy man. But the Dakota does everything my previous Silverado does, but handles better, has much more power with the 4.7 V8, and still gets better gas mileage. At 42,000 miles its been perfectly reliable. I even have the original brake pads and rotors, something that won't happen on a Chevy!!! Mytrade in was a Colorado, which was the worst piece of junk Ive ever owned. The Dakota is a bigger truck, far more comfortable and much more pleasant to drive. I tow a 26 ft. trailer and have pulled over 10000 lbs. with it and it does it beautifully. Real nice paint job. Still get compliments that it looks like new. I can't find anything to complain about this truck, except it doesn't say Chevy on it. It should!!!"
