Pros: "power of v8 in a mid size truck"

Cons: "needed a little longer bed"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"These trucks are tough. Plenty of power. I tow a 18' Bayliner bass boat no problem with this v8.Plenty of room inside. To bad they changed body styles and ruined the look. Now they don't make any more. Ready to trade and trying to figure out what to replace it with. This is my 3rd one. Disappointed this will be the last."

Pros: "The V8 Hemi 4.7L provides quite a bit of power."

Cons: "Not the best in terms of MPG"

This is a photo when I first bought the truck. Since then I've added a tonneua cover and put new tires on.

"I originally purchased this truck in 2011 for $6000 from a local dealership. At the time it had 145,000 miles and rust free. This truck has been very reliable considering the high mileage. Since owning, I have only needed to replace the exhaust (rusted out), brake lines/ brake cylinders, and ball joints (still had original). This truck drives very good in snowy conditions and the 4WD works great. I still drive this truck today and I am very content on keeping this vehicle for the next several years."

Cons: "Original tires fell apart at about 40,000"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"It's been a good truck .. tires went bad at about 40,000 , had brake trouble and had to replace the front calipers ( when the breaks would get warm they would lock up ) otherwise no problems The gas milage is poor about 14 mpg on the Highway"

Pros: "Excellent light duty truck"

Cons: "Not made anymore"

"Dodge should never have stopped making this model. Newer US trucks will not even fit in our garage. We would buy this same truck again if we were able."

Pros: "price, V8 power, limited slip rear end, crew cab"

Cons: "lots of things break over time"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"Bought used at 22000 miles for the crew cab and V8 power. Lots of power with the 4.7 and limited slip rearend was great. With sway bars front and back it handled well. Terrible gas mileage, 14 mpg average with mostly highway. By 80000 miles had to replace both rear window regulators twice and front once. AC compressor broke, front wheel bearings replaced. Brake release handle broke, console over latch broke, AC fan broke. I will never buy another Dodge."

"Ordered this truck in November of 1996 (Yes I did say ordered as in from the factory) It is a 1997 Dodge Dakota Club Cab with a 5.2L (318ci)V8, 5 Speed Manual Transmission, 355 gearing, towing package, 31x10.5x15 tires. Other than normal wear items I have replaced the water pump once, thermostat once, clutch and pressure plate at 165000 miles, AC system once and the only other thing now is having to replace the heater core. Is a very good and dependable truck. My mother has a 2005 Dakota with the 4.7 V8 Crew Cab. I'll take my truck over hers any day of the week. In my opinion Chrysler screwed up when they dropped the 5.2L (318ci) engine. Overall I have been very happy with my Dakota and plan on keeping it until it just won't go any more."
