"This truck has been very dependable although it is rough on long cross country trips. Mainly because i am so tall. Very dependable and easy to work on at home."

Pros: "good for hauling stuff, fun to drive"

Cons: "Has no roof linen inside the truck"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"It's a 96 with 127.807 miles on it. It runs great and has been through a couple of upstate New York winters. It handles well in the snow, rain and other hazardous conditions. The 4wd is simply great. Made it from Virginia to New York and from New York to Virginia on multiple occasions with no problems. The gas mileage surprised me too, only had to fill it up at the most twice in a 500+ mile journey between NY and VA. Just need a to fix a few things on it but nothing major but the head gasket."

Most dependable vehicle I've owned.

Like new 1994 Dakota

"Bought this new in 1994. Test drove an S-10 and a Ford Ranger and in 1994 the Dakota had much more rear seat space for kids and a much smoother ride (with it's longer leaf springs). I pulled a small fifth wheel camper for years (appx 4600 lbs, a little much for the V-6, but it handled well and had no transmission issues). Today, it's still a great truck with near mint interior and a great new paint job. V-6 still runs strong with no noise or oil consumption. I change oil every 3000 with Castrol GTX. Trans still shifts smooth. Over the years I've replaced the AC evaporator, radiator, starter, and recently brake and fuel lines. Body has no rust, but the factory paint was peeling terribly, so I had a complete paint job last year. I love the way the truck rides, the comfort of the seats, and the instrument layout (all the gauges are clearly in sight and not hidden by the steering wheel). I'm sad to see it go, but got a great deal on a V-8 F150. I hope my Dakota ends up in a good home, as it's been well maintained and has several years of service to give."

Pros: "mpg, dependable, good pull even when hauling"

Cons: "headlight covers yellow badly"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought my '95 Sport 3.9L in late 2009 for $1200. It was a bit rough looking and had a few minor fixes, ie: headlight out and wiper motor needed a push. My brother didn't think it would last more than 6 months. At some point before I had it, the truck had been submerged under water not sure of details. The truck is very easy to work on as I've replaced the fuel and water pump myself, and I'm a woman so you know it has to be easy. The truck is my main vehicle and is running better than ever! Good get up and go and I get about 20 mpg which I think is good. After 4 years of owning this truck I've proved everyone wrong. It DOES last!"

"I bought a use Dak 318 4x4 in 1995 and I must say it was one of my favorite vehicles ever...drove like a sports car and I brutalize it until it had 120,000 and then I started taking care and babied it cause I realized the new one wasn't as good...I would buy a new one today if they made one 'just' like it....thanks"
