Excellent when you don't need a monster truck

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 156,335

Pros: "Sturdy, reliable, predictable to drive, no worries"

Cons: "Gas mileage fair, original paint not good"

"I regularly service this truck per the manual, and have had very little problems with it except for normal wear and tear. I'm on the 4th set of tires, third battery, replaced the main shaft oil seal twice, re-done the brakes twice, painted it once, replaced the plastic headlight lenses once, and re-did the driver's seat upholstery. It doesn't leak or burn oil, passes emissions easily, gets the same mileage (17-18/23-25), doesn't rattle, and all the electronics and lights work. No recalls, either. I'm a big guy but don't need a full-size pickup, and can't fit in the small ones. The Dakota has been ideal for me."

One Tough Medium Size Truch

"I bought it new in 1991 and plan to keep it forever. Last year, I hauled almost exactly 1 ton of demolished tile and other materials to the dump. I previously had hauled 3/4 ton of landscape rock. I did replace the tranny at about 165k when I started using it to plow my steep and 800' long driveway. Other than the tranny, I've only done basic maintenance (regular oil changes, transimission, grease fittings). I still think it looks 'cool', but my wife and kids aren't so sure. The large turning radius is a minor inconvenience at times. I like the basic, no-frills interior."

Best truck I've ever owned!

Pros: "Super dependable. Absolutely solid!!"

Cons: "None"

"This truck has done everything I've asked it to do, and more! Even with the 1/2 ton rating, I've hauled more than 1/2 ton many times - just had to be careful to get the load over and/or in front of the rear axle. Only issue I've had was my fault. I let it sit for several weeks (I have a 3rd vehicle). Mice chewed up the wiring under the hood and I had to have it replaced, but other than that, it's been as reliable as anything I've every owned. Great Truck!!"

Best vehicle ever

Pros: "Price,power, reliability, functionality"

Cons: "Large turning radius"

"Capably does everything I ask with no problems whatsoever. Ran strong at the drag strip, hauls my bass boat everywhere I want and never lets me down. Very fast and nimble. The only negative is the turning radius. Never had any mechanical problems at all."

good running truck

Pros: "runs good after 150,000 miles"

Cons: "its SFI which makes workin on it slightly harder"

"the truck is a pretty basic build so anyone who has the time can work on one. so far i havent had any serious problems with it just recently changed the fuel pump after 150,000 miles im not surprised it needed to be changed other than that the 4 wheel drive works great its a sharp looking truck stock and its worth the money"
