Cons: "Funky intermittent engine problem"

"Bought my 2006 Dodge Charger SXT 3.5L V6 2 years ago and love it. Its awful (-ly fun) in the snow but that is to be expected with a RWD car in CO. Bought it used with 90k on it, 135k now and have had a few repairs done but nothing outrageous. Gets decent gas mileage, its fun to drive, looks more expensive than it is, (well mine does at least) and is an awesome car all around."

Pros: "Looks great with lots of interior room and HP."

Cons: "Sloppy steering, premature engine failure."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"This car was great until the engine died just short of 125,000 miles. Engine replacement will cost me over $6000 and that's more than the car is worth. Looking on various message boards, it looks like premature engine failure is not uncommon with the 5.7 liter Hemi engine. Posters say that the engine block is steel and the head is aluminum (why???). These metals expand at different rates. I never drove it hard and my engine wasn't even overheating but somehow the valves were damaged, pieces fell into cylinders 6, 7, and 8 and the engine was trashed."

Pros: "Great pedal power when needed"

Cons: "Wish Dodge would make a 2 door"

"Previously owned a does edgfe, mice vehicle but didn't quite love it. The first time I heard the charger start with remote keyless entry, I had goose bumps all over. Before this, though, test drove a mustang and was not happy. Fell in love with my charger!"

Cons: "Bad front end painted plastic bumpers high maintnc"

"If you drive this car like a normal human being on good roads, I'm sure it would be just fine, maybe even 9 or 10 out of 10 material. I'm a 19 year old kid that drives my car harder than I should and I drive on country roads often. I have a lead foot and this car is fun, but not thrilling. The power leaves more to be desired, although it will sound good with an aftermarket exhaust (I have a magnaflow cat back dual exhaust setup with chrome tips). I'm not sure if it's the mediocre roads I drive on regularly or the way I drive or just dodge / the car itself, but the front end on my car is absolute garbage. Replaced ball joints when purchased it for a pretty $1100 (dual ball joints both sides isn't cheap), and in the 25,000 miles I've had it, I've replaced three tie rods, a steering shaft, sway bar linkages, and brakes. The car drives oddly loose when everything is new and working well, and drives as if the suspension is pretty stiff because you rattle through every little bump in the road. Maybe the people that had it before me drove it roughly, but between three different mechanics I've worked with for different things, they all say everything checks out fine. The engine, I will say, is bulletproof. I don't hold anything back, and the charger just takes it and goes. Again, power is a little lackluster, but you can count on this car to get you there."
