If you're looking for a sedan with an American muscle-car attitude, but you can't quite swing the big bucks for the Dodge Charger, the 2012 Dodge Avenger sedan makes a good second runner-up. <
If you're looking for a more modern design, feature-rich standard equipment list or a manual transmission, there are newer and more modern cars from which to choose. If resale figures are importan
The 2012 Dodge Avenger sedan is a surprisingly fun car to drive. Last year's complete reworking of the car's suspension, brakes and steering gear make the 2012 Dodge Avenger sedan perform much more like a nimble European VW or Opel than any mid-size Dodge we've driven in the last decade. But, unlike many sporty cars that punish the pleasure of excellent handling with the sin of a harsh ride, the 2012 Dodge Avenger knows no such unpleasantness. Dodge has managed to blend a soft comfortable ride with a responsive chassis that can carv

"The 2013 Dodge Avenger is a great car, especially for the price. I bought the R/T model, just picked it up a few days ago and could not be happier. The car has a ton of power, not to mention still provides solid gas mileage. I took the car on a 200 mile road trip the day after I got it and averaged 31.6 mpg on the open road. Not bad for a 283 HP V6. The car handles very well, flying around tight turns. Don't listen to the "Experts" when they say this car has too many flaws to compete in the mid-size sedan class. Leg and head room are just fine, even in the rear seats. I am 6'0" and sat in the back seat with the driver seat adjusted to when I drive and my knees weren't even touching the seat. Visibility is not as bad as advertised. The touch screen entertainment system is great and is very user friendly. Not to mention, Dodge throws in a free year of satellite radio. Overall, this is a great car, especially if you have the extra few bucks to upgrade to the R/T. It is definitely worth it. Go test drive one next time before you listen to the so called "Experts" tear apart a car which can easily compete with the Fusion, Sonata, Optima, Camry and Altima if it got the attention it deserves."

Cons: "The durability (issues I have had), design flaws"

"I bought this car brand new in 2010. I enjoy driving and using it when it works. However I have had issues with the brakes squeaking and making noise, the transmission making weird noises, the driver side window motor broke, the emergency brake light coming on for no apparant reason and at random times, and some kind of rod in the steering broke causing popping noises and a popping in the steering wheel. I have had the car in the shop at least 6 or 7 times for these issues (more than once on some issues). That is way too many times to have your car in the shop escpecially when it has had regular maintenance, been taken care of, and just barely has 40000 miles on it. Other design features I did not like are the plastic chrome ring around the shifter reflects sun in your eyes, the trunk lid/opening make it hard to get odd shaped items in there (I often find that things are just barely too long/tall/wide)and it is also sometimes hard to get things in the back seat as well, and sometimes if you get one drop of water on the seat it will make a stain. Other than that I loved how it drives and looks. However do to the issues I had I am in the process of getting rid of it."
