Pros: "great ride, very reliable good looking car!"

Cons: "Air conditioning system may need replacement"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"Car is now 13 years old and the style looks as good as cars newer. The 3.5 engine has been great, plenty of power for the highway drives and moves well in and out of city traffic. Drive seat has good support. Love the moon roof. No engine or transmission problem with mine. I did have air conditioner problems - TWICE!!!First at 75,000 requiring new compressor and dryer, then again at 135,00 miles requiring another compressor and everything else except the on/off control. This seems to a problem with the components mfg. not a design flaw from Chrysler. Yes, given the chance agin I would still by this car."

Pros: "Easy to drive, good handling, very comfortable!"

Cons: "More road noise than other luxury models."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"The Chrysler Concorde is a sleeper - you won't know how luxurious it feels to sit in until you try it. The handing, driver comfort and easy access to controls is excellent. The car does not get great gas mileage. 17 mpg in town, and 22 highway if you're a lead foot like me! If I had rustproofed this car when I bought it in '07, I would be happier right now. No visible rust outside, but the inside bottoms of the doors have problems. So, do I sell my baby for $4500 (if I can get it) and go for a new one, or put the money in this one to make it right for another 50,000 miles?"

Pros: "Roomy, great mileage, very comfortable."

Cons: "Poor engine design and engine compartment layout."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 5

"Bought this car used with @127500 miles on it. 2.7L engine with automatic transmission. Easy to drive, gets great mileage for its size. Handles well in northern New York snow. Uses no oil, up to 202500 miles on it. Unfortunately, this particular car has had many mechanical failures. Internal water pump located over open end of oil pan, dumped antifreeze into the oil. Hydraulic timing chain tensioner failed, timing chain broke, no damage to valves. Cross member over radiator and bumper shroud needs to be removed to change headlight bulbs. The location of the thermostat behind the altenator and power steering pump is also a poor design. Floor pans and bottom structural members are so rotted the gas tank straps pulled out of the frame and there are numerous holes through the floor pan. Still drivable but won't pass another inspection, so looking for another vehicle now. The difficulty of working on this vehicle a major drawback, as well as the disintegration of the underbody. This could be a very good car except for these design problems. If I hadn't been able to do most of the repairs myself, I couldn't have afforded to justify keeping the car."

Pros: "Great value over the years. Awesome sound system."

Cons: "Some minor cosmetic issues."

"Bought this 1998 Concorde LXi new in February 1999, left over at the dealer and drove it home with 30 miles starting on the odometer. Why someone did not give it a home, I dont know. The dealer said it was already sitting on his lot for near 4 months and he wanted it sold as it was last years model. Really reliable - seriously. Typical maintenace will get you long service with this car. Its garage kept, with a 3.2 engine, auto trans, no problems at all with the power train at 180,000 plus miles. Motor and trans are quiet, doesnt burn oil. Its loaded with options - and nice little "extras" - and they all work still. I've had a few issues, the old age and wear out items you do experience, but the car is really solid, so I dont mind investing in the repairs. Yes the A/C has been repaired along with replacing the timing belt/water pump. And its an all black paint with factory gold badging and factory painted gold pin stripe, so the sun had caused some chalking/bleaching on the roof which I've had repainted. Most recent, the on board computers were a problem and dash gauges went crazy, the "NO BUS" odometer message, but a very knowledgable trusted mechanic was able to resolve that and rebuild the old worn out front end on the same visit at a reasonable cost. The car once again rides and drives like new and I'm really impressed! My mechanics tell me the car is still solid underneath. I like the look and its really comfortable to ride and drive. And when someone finds out how old the car is they are stunned as to how nice it still looks. Yep, I've received compliments on the car at times when out. Fuel ecomony is pretty decent for such a large car - get usually 20+ MPG average around town and over 31/32 MPG on the highway. One of the better cars I've owned and dont intend to let it go away or die without a fight."
