Pros: "Good car."

Cons: "Cannot determine why it dies."

"I bought my '97 Chrysler Cirrus brand new and I've been the only owner. Overall the car has been great with very minimal issues over my 18 years of ownership. With only 103,000 miles, I've had no major issues. However, with that being said, in the past year, the idle has been inconsistent to the point of shutting off or dying when in idle or when I come to a slow/stop. Chrysler cannot determine the cause because the OBDII cannot "talk" to the car due to the age. They recommended that I upgraded my Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in order for them to extract codes - at a cost of $700. Bottom line, it's been a great car but I think it's come to its end. Unfortunately, sooner than I thought. I plan on trading it in with hopes to atleast get $1K for it."

Pros: "cheap on gas, very reliable, cheap parts"

Cons: "not a great car for fountain drinks. use BOTTLES ONLY"

"I have owned 3 Chrysler Cirrus' s. Over the past 12 years. I had a 1996 LX great car. Family friends owned it before me and loved it. I only had to buy a starter for it the 6 years I owned it. Got hit on back side door. Window didn't break. The car took it like a champ. Then the engine died at 260k miles. Then got a 1997 LXi was great car for 6 years only needed to buy a distributor for it. Then a hummer hit me on a head on collision. Still runs and has 135k miles on it and still runs like a champ. Now I got a 2000 LX and it is an amazing reliable car. Cheap on gas too. I would get this car!!!"

"I have owned this car for almost 2 years now and I have had great luck with it! I bought it with about 264,000 miles on it and I am just now reaching 297,000 miles. This car gets me from A to B, I have only had a few minor issues with it such as fuel pump and battery. By far the best car I have owned!"

Pros: "fun to drive"

Cons: "my axels pop all the time"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I got this car back in 2011 as a graduation present from my dad. I absolutely love this car! I have drove it in the West Virginia winters and have had absolutely no problems from it even though it is a front wheel drive. Even drove it during the harsh winter of 2013! Just put some weight in the back and this baby went like a tank!. Drives amazingly. Has excellent take off. I have calculated that i get 22 mph (i live in the countryside) Have had to replace a number of things, but thats normal for a 16 year old car. The con is my axels like to pop ALL THE TIME!!! Found out it has to do with the way they are made, so other than that its an amazing car."

Pros: "fun to drive, nice looking, nice cd player"

Cons: "SEAT BELT inconvenient, cup holders inconvenient"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"In spite of the age and the problems lately, I love this car. It has good pickup and is easy to drive and I love all the options that are on it. I bought it from my sister and she loved it too. I am sad because it is getting old with high mileage and starting to nickel and dime me a lot. The driver seat belt is too short for a chubby person and the shifter hits anything over the height of a pop can that is in the cup holders when in park. But those are minor irritants."

Pros: "Smooth ride, good midrange pull, beautiful looks"

Cons: "Difficult engine to service, not much room for mod"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I'm a British expat, and loathed the idea of moving to the US and being stuck with my wife's car- american autos are thought to be of quite poor quality on the Continent, and I hate automatics. All I can say is, this car has changed my mind. If it grows on me any more, I might need chemotherapy. So much better looking than modern bulky sedans. 13yo, we've owned it for 7. *two* minor mechanical faults in all that time outside of regular maintenance (Bosch multipoints for the win!) and I blew $2.5k on a complete rocker-panel / underbody rebuild/respray due to rust (previous owner obviously bottomed it out hard on something). It looks beautiful, the interior is holding up just lovely, the acceleration is smooth and pulls well mid-range if not starting, and the ride feels as sleek as the car looks. The 6G73 mitsubishi engine/transmission combo on this chassis, with 25-28mpg, plus these looks, makes it very unlikely I will buy another car until this one gives."
