About Chevrolet Traverse

Although the once-thriving SUV business is in a sales downturn, GM is keenly aware that many Americans still have a need for seven-passenger transportation. With this in mind, GM has created a new line of crossover SUVs offering maximum interior space, mid-level towing capability and fuel economy numbers that reach into the mid-twenties. The latest iteration of this well-conceived platform is the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, a vehicle that combines contemporary styling, one of the best accident-avoidance systems in the business and an interior worthy of a high-end luxury car – all at a Chevrolet price.

"I love my 2011 Traverse! It's big and roomy inside but isn't too big to park and drive. I can see this vehicle meeting and exceeding all our family needs as we grow. The 3rd row seats are comfortable and allow plenty of room for an adult or children. AWD does wondefully in snow, slush, and ice! It's a GREAT vechile! I recommed it to everyone that is looking for a SUV/Van."

Pros: "very comfortable"

Cons: "smell in window, priced to high for LTZ"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2

"I owned a GMC Yukon before this vehicle. Loved my Yukon, easier to get in and out of places in Traverse. Very comfortable to ride in. I have two complaints, horrible smell when window is down and power steering makes noise. Brought back to dealership and nothing they can do about either. Getting the run around. Feel very safe riding in this SUV. Gas mileage around 20 - 21 with husband driving. 22 - 23 with me driving."

Pros: "Very comfortable on long trips."

Cons: "miss my automatic wipers! small opening for the sunroof even though I had the moon roof also."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought the LTZ AWD fully loaded. It was a great upgrade from the Trailblazer. Two winters and the AWD was an adequate replacement for four wheel drive. No mechanical problems. Gas mileage was just below 20 mpg but I drove it hard. Live on a hill so the brakes were replaced once."
