"After riding in a friends Tahoe over 100 miles on a day trip, I HAD to have a Tahoe.
Got a great deal on a used 02 with only 54K miles on it. LOVE it for style and for comfort. The best way to describe it is like your grandpa's favorite leather lazyboy reclinder. That being said after being used to driving a 4runner (obviously much smaller), I felt very nervous driving it bc it is very wide so now my hubby drives it. I usually sleep in the middle or 3rd row seats laying down and all 3 of my GIANT dogs fit in it with no problems at all. Holds 6 adults comfortably. It drives like a heavy truck, which is what it is so if you don't like that, I would not recommend it but if you don't mind it, you cannot beat it!!!!!! Only maintenance thus far, oil change."
"I'm an abusive own to his transportation. I know this by the tires and brakes I go through and by the passangers always getting a grip when I drive. That being said, I have "abused" my 2001 Tahoe and it keeps coming back for more. I'm shocked that at 75000 miles, I haven't needed the front brakes yet (backs just got done). Oil changes, yes. Mechanical problems.....NONE. This is the first vehicle I have kept (I buy new) past 50k miles, usually due to boredum or exessive wear, but from the looks of things, I plan on keeping this one many more years. And to all those complaints about the lack of leg room in the third row......this truck is only 200 inches long (less than an Explorer or Taurus), did you expect it to have the leg room of a Suburban? Come on. Wide, yes, hip room great. MPG...around 15 mixed, almost 20 at a steady 70 mph, about 17 at 85+ mph with a roof top carrier. I've been trying and I haven't shaken a part loose yet, gotta love it!"
