"I have had this Tahoe since 2002! It has never broken down on me or has never needed any major repairs!! This Tahoe is the most reliable. It has got us all over the country just fine. We now have another family vehicle but we still kept the Tahoe and use it occasionally, and it still works brand new. I have had it for 11 years now and plan to keep it around for another 11 years and more! If you take care of it, it will defiantly take care of you and your family.. What better could you ask for!"

"I have owned this Tahoe when purchased with only 12,000 miles and it has been a very reliable vehicle. Have taken some long trips and the comfort was very good. On the open raaod I was able to get about 20.1 MPg which was very good considering the size of the vehicle. Around town it was onlt 16.6 MPG. Over all it have been very reliable and no major problems at all."

"This Tahoe is the best vehicle I have ever owned and I've own 37 vehicles in my 60 years. Also, I sold cars and trucks for a couple years and was an auto mechanic for 15 years. I know American cars and trucks well. Until I purchased this Tahoe, I wasn't impressed with American cars. A strange thing happened when I was looking to sell my Honda Civic. I wanted to go back to a 4WD vehicle as the Honda was the worst vehicle I'd ever owned with respect to travel in snow or on icy roads. All previous 4WD vehicles that I'd owned were Fords so I was partial to them. I owned a Ford Excursion and it was a great vehicle as well but of course, rode like a truck, did not have a cabine filter for outside air, etc, etc. So I wanted something similar to that Exursion if not actually buying another Excursion. But they are difficult to find. But that was okay as I really wanted a pickup truck. However, the pickups on the market today whether used or new are way over priced - price far greater than value. The salesman said "why don't you try this Tahoe?" I nad mouthed the vehicle mostly saying it won't do what I want it to do. But, as we looked at it and he showed me that it had 3rd row seating as did the Excursion I had (and the Tahoe is shorter), it was also capable of towing almost as much as the Excursion! Looking at the factory installed hitch it said that the hitch itself was capable of towing 10k lbs w/o load equalizer and 12,500 lbs with a load equalizer hitch. The manual says the vehicle was rated at a max of 9,600 lbs. So Chevy knew that people were likely to overload on occasion and so they put on a heaftier hitch. Ford would go the the other way and put a class III hitch on the same weight of vehicle. This Tahoe rides like a Cadillac where the Ford Excursion rides like a truck on smooth rodes and like a tank on dirt roads. The Tahoe is nice looking inside and out with standard features you can't even get as option on other manufacturers vehicles. The Tahoe LS is a strong 10 out of 10 vehicle. At 150,000 miles it drives like the day it was new. It's used prices are very low for what you get. Go out and buy two today and you won't regret it."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 221,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "durrable versatile comfortable"
Cons: "interior dash plastic"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I have had my 2001 Tahoe since 2004. I have 221k miles on it. Have only had to do typical maintenance on it like brakes and tires. The only additional repairs were the fuel pump at 190k miles and the ac at 180k. Both of which lasted much longer at that mileage than you would find on other similar type autos. It is very easy to drive and has great visibility. Not as bad on gas as people think, about 19.5 on interstate only about 13 to 14 in town though, but I have the 5.3 liter v8. Very durable engine. The only thing I find a fault is the leather seats are not fully leather, the sides of the seats are a vinyl that matches. Not sure if this is original or a repair that was done by original owner. Overall if you are considering one of these they are great and with so many out there getting parts if necessary is easy and somewhat cheap."
