"My suburban has 380k+ that's about the life of three Japanese cars, Just let that sink in...
In all 380k+ its only left me once when my tire blew on some junk on the highway, and my spare was flat (check that once a month) But anyways that's not really the trucks fault.
Its a 2002 suburban z71 in green, I love it. Very conferrable ride and very predictable handling. IT also has the most ridiculously strong A/c I have ever seen, It can get painfully cold if you want. Good sound system (not great, just good) Great engine, Very smooth trans, and a simple to use 4wd system.
Its only huge issue is the mpgs, its well; the antiprius. Being a man of many talent's one of my best is smashing my foot on the accelerator peddle like its a spider In the shower, I get about 9 mpg- AGAHHH!!
It is by far the best truck to go on a road trip in, can cruse at 85 no prob and it is very easy to eat while driving in it, plenty of places for food, drinks and general stuff one would bring on a trip. Plus it looks great going down the road. Also the center console is so big that you can put an entire Chinese food bag in it- no more spilling halfway home...
Personally after owning this truck for a long time, and spending allot of time in the drivers seat I have found that maintance is key, The trans and dif fluid NEED to be changed every 50k and also change the coolant every couple of years- when it gets old it will gum up the heater core. Other than that just change the fuel filter every 100k and your good."
"This is my 3rd Suburban. Had no choice really with 6 kids and a dog. I was lucky to find it with low miles since I'll need the size for quite a few more years. It rides smooth and quiet and actually has quite a bit of pick up for such a large vehicle. The seating is very comfortable and the cargo space ranks 2nd to none. It's mostly driven around town, but on our long trips the fuel consumption is better than expected."
"Large family, dogs, stuff, live in rural iowa...no way a mini van could do what we need it to do. When gas was $4 a gallon, we still loved this SUV. Regular service, Amoco 87 octane gives us 15 city and 18 highway. Will replace with a newer suburban in 09."
