For 2012, Chevrolet gives the Silverado full-size pickup a refreshed front end, available heated/cooling seats for the LTZ, and a new White Diamond Edition. Also new is an available navigation radio with built-in hard drive that eliminates the need for map data stored on DVDs.
Beyond an upgrade to OnStar 9.0, some new colors and some minor enhancements to reduce wind noise, there are no major changes for the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado.
The Ford F150 is the bestselling pickup truck (and vehicle, for that matter) in the country, but when you combine the sales of the Chevrolet Silverado with the nearly-identical GMC Sierra, it's a different story. The General Motors pickups outsell the Ford handily and also outsell all the import-label pickup trucks combined. This means GM has a lot riding on its all-new Chevrolet Silverado, because this truck will be its standard-bearer for years to come. With that in mind, GM engineers and designers have made a veritable shipload of changes to the pickup, including an improved chassis, more precise steering and a quieter, more upscale interior offering two completely different looks. Meanwhile, the Silverado offers segment-leading fuel economy thanks to the new line of Active Fuel Management-equipped V8 engines. And for those with an ecological bent, a Flex-Fuel E85-capable engine is also available.

"First truck I ever bought, feels like I hit a jackpot. Crew Cab Texas edition. Everything that I expected and then some. This vehicle even turned my wife into a truck fan. Comfort is exceptional, styling is great. Gas mileage -- I guess, what you would expect with a truck, although not bad for V8. Highly recommend."
