"This is the 5th GM truck i've owned and they've all progressively gotten a little better. Purchased this truck in April, 2008 with 68,000 Miles. I'm now at 140,000 Miles and can say it has been a great reliable truck that has been worked hard and never let me down. I use it often to pull my 20ft ski boat, enclosed 2 place snowmobile trailer, and haul mulch, dirt and rock in the bed and never had a challenge it couldn't handle. Only issues i've had have been 2 brake calipers that needed replacing along with brake pads and rotors on all 4 wheels once and a front wheel bearing. Other than that its been all normal maintenance and a little PM and TLC. I'd highly recommend this combination: 5.3L V8, 4sp auto, autotrac transfer case, 3.73 axle ratio. Also BF Goodrich A/T KO's make this truck almost unstoppable in almost all situations."

"Used my 2006 Chevy silverado to move to NY from FL and it did great. It pulled the biggest bumper pull Uhaul had with everything in it. It's been a great truck and the most reliable vehicle of the whole family!"

"And a dealer made me a offer i just couldnt pass up, sticker on my truck was $39,000 new and they were asking $26,000 used with 33,000 miles in 2008. After fierce negotiations i got the truck for $18,000 and other than the miles it was 99% showroom clean ! with that said let me tell you, i searched for 9 months for that one "perfect deal" and this was it.. I guess i just found the right salesman on the right day. The truck: is Solid, relieable, tuff, very functional. Ive modded mine with aftermarket goodies like grill guard, ofroad lights, aftermarket rims and A/T tires, spray in bed liner and a very mild lift. Factory options like the tow/haul mode are priceless, heated leather and Bose stereo are great. Driving my silverado, well its not a sports car, its a truck. compared to other trucks its top tier. I bought mine in 2008 with 33,000 miles and have 74,000 now and the only thing its been in the shop for is a Intermediate steering shaft THAT IS A FACTORY DEFECT and you should pay NOTHING to have any Chevy dealer fix this problem. other than that its been a flawless ownership experience. before i hit 100,000 i plan on selling and upgrading to a 2500 in the newer body style. Ive never had problems towing anything and my 1500 is rated at 7,700LBS of towing capacity, and ive towed 5,000lbs plenty of times and i dont feel the trucks even broke a sweat. Parts are readily availiable and easy to find at fair prices, for the DIY'er this trucks fairly easy to work on too. The only downfall ive found with this truck is that when using synthetic oil it tends to need topped off before you hit 3,000 miles and again at 6,000 miles before i change it all out at 7,000 miles. I would buy another Chevy or this Chevy 1500 in a minute."
