I own this car - My approximate mileage is 146,000

Pros: "Good looking, nice to drive, feeling of quality"

Cons: "like any vehicle as it gets older it needs repairs"

Bob's 2001 Silverado 1500 Z71

"I bought this truck when it had approx 12K miles on it. I replaced the waterpump around 36K mi. The fuel pump around 120K mi, the rear main seal around 143K mi. I've had the fluids serviced when they're due. It's Indigo blue, extended cab, captain's chairs (bucket seats), great quality cloth blue interior. Last year I installed new Westin nerf bars on it. I use it to tow a heavily loaded tandem axle trailer, so last year I installed a heavy duty Hayden tranny cooler. It needs a new motor on the passenger side window, so guess I'll repair that soon. It has the G80 locking axle. I've towed with it in snow and ice, and we drive it in 4wheel off the road once/twice /year. I's been dependable so far, guess I'll have to keep it for another 100K miles."

Awsome Truck

worst investment ever

"i made the switch from a Dodge 2 years ago, i will be making the switch back. the truck was a good looker on the lot and it doesd have a good amount of power with the 5.3 vortec. however the body soon went to pot and within 6 months i had to replace the brake lines and 2 of the calibers. shortly after that i broke a leaf spring! the power window motors are all dieing and the outside door handles for the rear doors broke off. also it has a very expensive abs senso bad that makes it so the brake pedal locks up unles you slam the pedal severl times. my vehicles are all anily maintained and recently i have been having hard starts and noyiced a ticking in the engine. i am very disapointed in this vehicle, a major waste of money!"

"Great vehicle to do a little back country driving with... Put a 4" lift with larger tires 285/75's Mudd and Snow tread and it does awesome. Drives great on the highway which I have driven from Phoenix to Houston three times and back with no problems... Very reliable.."
