"I bought this truck when it was a year old, with 11,000 miles one it. Now 14 years later, I can honestly say that it's been worth every cent of the $12,000 I paid for it. Relatively no problems, routine maintenance (which I often get behind on), I put truck tires, replacing the passenger car tires, because I often travel on unpaved roads in rural areas, and generally speaking, in spite of the abuse it has to deal with, it has never left me stranded on the side of the road. Would buy another Chevy PU, if the time ever comes when this one gives up the ghost, but I don;t see that happening."
Cons: "do not like to sell anything to friends or relativ"

"I have not driven. Had it towed to repair shop to make sure it was in sound condition. Needed battery, oil change, coolant, filters replaced. Mechanic drove it about ten miles and stated all was well. It was owned by one owner and he passed away and was left to me, a female. The tires have lots of tread (I used the Penney) to check tread. The front bumper is loose. On one side. Has a flat hard top on back and a liquid bed liner??? Could use a new paint Job."
"I bought this truck in 2005 and have had it for 10 years, would keep but need something bigger to pull a camper. It has been an awesome little truck for me and very reliable with little maintenance or mechanical issues other than your normal stuff. Has new tires and battery in past year and brakes and radiator replaced within the past 2 years. Does need to have ac checked (not working) think it has a leak in compressor and needs an antenna. Other than that it is ready to go. Have priced to compensate for the ac issue."
"We own a 2.2 5sp manual regular cab S10 with LS trim. Been with us 10 years. This truck has run flawlessly with only basic maintenance. Everything is made to last. Switchgear has held up fine, and the seats are in perfect shape, and very comfortable. This is a light hauler. Do not attempt to load this truck to the gills very often; it isn't made to take super heavy loads. The truck cannot safely sustain high speeds or long grades with payload. However, for light duty, there is no better vehicle. Rock solid reliable powertrain and drivetrain, and with the manual, it's as fun to dart around as a car, as long as you're not in a hurry. My only grievances are lack of torque from the 2.2, and lack of climate control settings that do not use the A/C system. Keep the A/C system off to save gas and to get the most power out of the 4cyl engine. Great truck."
"Can't complain, had this truck for 20 years. No wrecks, no major problems. Originally purchased to haul my two dogs, has lasted Chicago winters, Virginia summers and now a moderate driver in Georgia. Wish Chevy had continued producing the S-10 with the 4.3L V-6, great engine!"
