Pros: "Reasonable, three power points for nav/computer"

Cons: "Limited cabin space"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I bought my 2001 S10 used in 2002, with about 11,000 miles on it. I've driven it ever since, with little major maintenance, and not a single breakdown. I love the fact that it will run on E85, especially when gas prices were so high. And that fuel really does give the engine a good kick of power, especially when going uphill, which I do quite often. After 13 years I still enjoy driving this little truck, and it sure is handy to have something bigger than a car trunk when it's time to move something bigger. Everything is in great working order, and it's still as peppy as one can expect a 4 cylinder engine to be. I'll be keeping this one until it gives up the ghost, which will probably be about the same time I do. It just keeps going."

Served very well as dual purpose, work & pleasure.

"Truck held up very well in light construction usage, over the road appointments and maintenance. 4.3L V6 is powerful enough to do any task I needed to do. 20-22 mpg on road, 15-16 mpg around town. Overall maintenance was very reasonable."

Pros: "All around nice little trucks"

Cons: "Fuel mileage is the same as a half ton with a V8"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"The S10 is a great little pickup. Very convenient for the size. Good power, great torque, 4wd works wonders with the places these little trucks go. They just don't get the fuel mileage you would think. I've owned my truck since it had 69,000 miles and currently has 94,000. Wouldn't own another small brand truck if someone paid me!"

"Original and only owner of 2002 Chevy S10 4x4, 4.3L V6. Maroon exterior/gray & black interior, seat covers on since new. Almost new tires, 4k on them. Power windows, power locks, power mirrors. Four wheel drive works well. Bought new in July, 2003. Engine, transmission, front & rear ends serviced on time. Recalls completed as needed."

Me and my baby

"I bought this truck in 1997 and have had it ever since. No problems, just new water pump, new tires, regular maintenance, new clutch. I love it. It is a Mark III customized like the 90's. Leather, rails, step up, lights and wood inside. Beautiful. I keep it in garage so probably thats why so pretty. Original paint job on it and really pretty. Black outside grey inside. Love it. Only have approximately 84000 miles. I'm 72 looks as if it will outlive me."

"I love this truck. Drove it for 15 years, still runs great. Some minor problems, but overall it has been a great vehicle. The major problem I have had is the fuel system, but I think the aftermarket parts were garbage, as the stock parts lasted 125,000 miles. I also had other electrical problems caused by failed sensors, but otherwise minor. This truck, with the 4.3, is a workhorse, regardless of efficiency. I have pulled more than this truck should and it has handled the load well. Furthermore, This truck also struggles with wind interference, and fuel efficiency suffers due to things like ladder racks. Altogether a great vehicle."
