"We own a 2.2 5sp manual regular cab S10 with LS trim. Been with us 10 years. This truck has run flawlessly with only basic maintenance. Everything is made to last. Switchgear has held up fine, and the seats are in perfect shape, and very comfortable. This is a light hauler. Do not attempt to load this truck to the gills very often; it isn't made to take super heavy loads. The truck cannot safely sustain high speeds or long grades with payload. However, for light duty, there is no better vehicle. Rock solid reliable powertrain and drivetrain, and with the manual, it's as fun to dart around as a car, as long as you're not in a hurry. My only grievances are lack of torque from the 2.2, and lack of climate control settings that do not use the A/C system. Keep the A/C system off to save gas and to get the most power out of the 4cyl engine. Great truck."
"Can't complain, had this truck for 20 years. No wrecks, no major problems. Originally purchased to haul my two dogs, has lasted Chicago winters, Virginia summers and now a moderate driver in Georgia. Wish Chevy had continued producing the S-10 with the 4.3L V-6, great engine!"
"Very reliable vehicle. Rides like a log truck. I have had the front wheel bearings, idler arms and struts replaced. I had to buy a new radiator cap last week. Otherwise just normal maintenance. It has been a great truck for me."
"had no major problems . did the lower intake gaskets myself and replaced the fuel pump 8 years ago. front end held up good and I had to replace nothing there. Rusted out quite a bit due to Michigan uses salt on the roads. Overall I would buy one again."
