"Bought this truck in 1992 with 117,000 miles on it. Used and abused it both in my construction business and pulling stumps out of the ground around my home. Paid $7,000.00 for it, am still driving it with 305,000 miles. Just bought another vehicle for my dog (crew cab), so this one is just not being driven anymore. Still a good looking hard worker that is fun and easy to drive. Will miss the reliability and dependability of this vehicle. BTW, it tows my boat (3,500#) like there is nothing behind it, up hills, wherever. Someone is going to get a great vehilce for cheap."
"I gotta say this is by far the best truck I have ever owned or driven. Its comfortable to sit in for long trips, The fourwheel drive works fantastically through anything esspecially with a small lift. The styling is nice, looks tough and rugged while still being on the family vehicle side. I have never had any complaints with the truck except that the 4.3HO V6 is a little difficult to work on with some things being hard to get to.
Overall I love this truck and wouldnt get rid of it for the world. I have a 6.5 inch lift, and 32 inch tires, along with a beefy sound system. There is nothing like it. Never had anything it couldny drive though, rain, snow, ice, mud. And with the beatings I give it, its STILL running like new!"
"Bought my 89 S-10 Blazer (2dr) from an old farmer's estate with about 235,000 on it.
Drove it for 2 years. Then, with 275,000 I finally blew the engine---not the truck's fault--- and gave it to my ex-wife's b/f to use the tranny in HIS S-10 Blazer (which is still running strong after about 6 months).
This was my back-up vehicle, so i didn't baby it at all...I WANTED to see how hard I could beat it just to see what it could take, and it took everything i gave it. I ended up using THIS as my daily driver and my OTHER car as by "back-up" vehicle)..1st time i slammed it into 4-wheel, it jumped like a jack rabbit! (glad i still had my foot on the brake and there wasn't anyone in front of me). I could not believe the stength and power to be had from that 4.3 Vortec V6..I LOVED this truck (suv).
and the turning radius is unbelievable..I could make a u-turn on just a little more than a 2-lane road.
About the only downfall, with today's prices, is the mileage...but then again, i don't suppose 17mpg is all that bad, all considered. (going to go look at a '93 this weekend)...I LOVED THIS VEHICLE!!!"
"I have owned my 94 blazer for about 4 yrs now and it has been a great ride to have. I bought for a daily driver, and winter transportation, it was a one owner with 116,000 miles, and it now has 200,000 miles and i drive it everyday, and it has been about anywhere, and everywhere. I hit a patch where all the orginal parts starting going out, but nothing big, it still has the orginal motor, and transmission. If someone is looking or wanting something cheaper, older to drive, but want someting dependable then i would get one, but i would go for the 4.3 motor not the 2.8"
