"I bought this car for $750.00 after getting everything said and done it was about $900.00 and since I have not had to put hardly any work into it, however, it does have high mileage. When I received the car it was in Fair condition and everything was original until I had to replace some things such as the alternator and gas tank for a minor hole. I seriously love the way it rides though. And is really good on the highway and in general. I hope this car still has a lot of life in her because my plans are to one day get her fully restored. I've had the car since last October, so five months in total. I really enjoyed driving it for the first time too. Though some consider it to be a big boat I really just love it! In the beginning I figured I would have to put more work into her because of her age which is when I found the alternator had to be replaced and a new battery in it as well. Unfortunately, it should have cruise control and it does not, but does have a cd player instead of a cassette player. I really believe this car has much potential and at this current time I'm unwilling to sell it until I know that she is pretty much good to go, but even after I'll still keep her. She's come a long way, after being a south car most of her life, she just experienced her first winter and dealt really well. Just love, love, love the car!"
Pros: "Fast response, never breaks, good gas mileage"
Cons: "The breaks are slow unless sport breaks are used"

"I have owned my 1999 Monte Carlo Z34 since it was new. It now has over 226200 miles on it. It has a 3.8 liter V6 in it that originally produced 200 HP. The car still produces about the same amount of power it did when I first bought it. It always responds eagerly when you want to. The Monte Carlo get good gas mileage at 19 city and 30 highway. There is plenty of space on the interior and the trunk is also very large. the main problem I have had with this car is the air-conditioning. I have had to replace it three times but it always worked until it finally stopped. The breaks are somewhat slow on this car unless you put premium break discs on it. The car is a great daily driver and has some sportiness to it as well. If you want a car that lasts for a long time and that reacts well, I highly recommend the Monte Carlo Z34."
"I love my car. Although the seats require a certain type of cover due to the seat belts and there is only one cup holder within the entire vehicle, I enjoy driving and owning my Monte Carlo. The turn signal broke, and when I had gotten it fixed the right turn signal sometimes doesn't stay in place. But other than that it get's great mileage, goes super fast, and even though it's from 1996, it's still a sexy looking car. ;)"
"bought in 1999, soon turned into a money pit. Had to replace engine gaskets which cost a fortune in labor. Brake lines rusted out. ABS went out years ago and not worth the cost to get fixed. Rear view mirror fell off several times. A/c went out and hasn't been the same since. Radiator went out recently, alternator not long before that. One window won't work. I expect thing to happen as a car gets older but not this much."
"I have a 98 Monte Carlo Z34 that I traded an almost new 99 Cavalier for. Got it with 26,000 miles on it and it now has over 250,000. Top of engine rebuilt, and still driving it. Transmission slips a bit in overdrive, but the rest are good. Drive it everywhere still. Paint starting to peel. Has been a great car. Totally comfortable, roomy. I still love it. Plan to keep it till it dies. Sincerely, Becca"
