Pros: "Perfect size, great cargo capacity, comfortable"

Cons: "Turn signals and headlamp bulbs go very quickly"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought my Maxx new in 2005. Used as my primary car for over 5 years, now a secondary car. Decided to buy AWD for Ohio snow in the country with a different car. Perfect mid-size car; being short, I love all the built in functionality that allows me to adjust the seat, steering wheel, even the height of the pedals. Fold down the seats, and the ability to carry items is truly amazing, vs. a standard trunk. I have the 6-cylinder, and it has enough "get-up and go" to enable me to pass slower vehicles on the West Virginia turnpike. No issues with mechanics, other than replacing brakes; and an AMAZING number of turn signal and headlight bulbs. First car I've ever had to keep a socket wrench in the glove box to change out bulbs on a regular basis. Love this car, except for the bulbs. Have recommended to several friends who each ended up buying a Malibu."

Pros: "mileage, flexibility of use and passenger space"

Cons: "best for four adults, or young family of five"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought my Malibu Maxx in 2004, and have driven it for 11 years. I have 175,000+ miles on the car and no major repairs(except for an accident-not my fault-to the rear of the car). I have had an excellent experience with my car. the back seat has a surprising amount of leg room, and even my tallest friends are comfortable. The roof is tall enough that I can sit comfortably in the front seat (unlike my seabring) and see out the front without crouching, or hitting my head on the ceiling when I sit up straight. The hatch back makes this vehicle able to haul large amounts of stuff, and I have even had ten foot long pipes and boards in the car when I put the passenger seat down. Also, it has more ground clearance than many smaller sedans, and gets 26 city and 32 highway, which is pretty competitive with smaller, less functional cars."

Pros: "Reliable at First, Comfortable, Lots of Space"

Cons: "Continuous Jerking Unresolved Jerking Issues."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2

"This was a great car at first. I owned it for 3 years and all of sudden, one day my car jerked and shook for several minutes. The screen read "Traction Control" and "Engine Powered". I was so afraid the first time, so I cut the car off and started it back and it worked fine for several months. The jerking started again and I took it to Midas. These guys claimed it was my throttle body after reading the engine light code. So they replace the throttle body and this issue happened once a week for 3 weeks. Then they claimed it was my "Re-learn Position" that needed to be set. Finally, they set it and it was fine for months, but it happened again and they claimed it was my "Gas Pedal Actuator". So I had that replaced. Overall after researching, I believe it is the transmission, the ECU or Throttle body sensor. This problem happens at least 5 times a year now. To avoid wasting money, I just cut the car off and sit for 5 minutes and then continue my day. After this car dies, I am going to purchase a Nissan. P.S. I took the car to Two Chevy Dealerships and they could not find the problem."

Pros: "Reliable, sunroof, heated seats"

Cons: "Weird thing with turn signals."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I loved my car. I purchased it new in 2004. It hardly required any service. Oil changes, new tires and a few tune-ups. The only little quirk was when the first rain would come (and it the Bay Area there isn't a huge rainy season) one or two turn signal bulbs would burn out. Sometimes I would have to replace the bulbs twice during the rainy season, but otherwise the car ran like a champ . . . until I got rear-ended and shoved into the car in front of me, totaling my car. I am going to get another one because it was such a great car."
