"This 2004 Impala still starts up, still runs, and has a great engine and parts, however it does not move when the gear is shifted. I will need a tow, but a good mechanic could fix it right up with no problems. I have the title, just want to get rid of it, so I can help my son find a better car."

Pros: "Drives smooth, easy to operate"

Cons: "Interior Features, Always need maintenance"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 3

"I've had this car for going on 3 years, so it was 11 years old when I got it. It was once a cop car, in which I purchased from a police auction. Since my initial purchase I've had to get a tune up, multiple repairs, brake repairs, etc. Chevrolet has had multiple recalls on different functions of the vehicle. I loved my '02 Implala but it is far too much to keep the maintenance up especially due to the age of the vehicle."

Best car I ever owned, till my 2015 Impala.

Pros: "Great car! Wonderful & reliable."

Cons: "It's getting older and needs drivers front seat."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"Bought this Impala right after 9/11. Oil changed every 3,000 miles. Had usual minor repairs and regular maintenance as needed. Recently had body rust and reclaimed doors installed for $1,500, and now expect to get another 150,00 miles out of it. Still get 31+ hwy. mpg. on my longer trips."

Pros: "3.8 liter LS strong engine, handles well, spacious"

Cons: "She likes expensive things. be prepared for repair"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2

"She is 14 years OLD (2002) with only 75,000 miles. Seems to require above average repairs. Maybe, even lots of repairs for only 75,000 miles. ABS light, BCM (control module), side air bag, radiator, sensors, MAF, tire sensor, sway bar, links, cheap plastic coolant elbows, various electrical gremlins, RECALLS oil leak, ignition switch of death, catalytic converter... I do not know where to stop. HOWEVER, IF YOU DO NOT MIND DROPPING $$$400-$$$1,100 EVERY SO OFTEN, THEN THIS IS A GREAT CAR...HANDLES GREAT FOR A BIG CAR, IT IS A BIG CAR, ENORMOUS TRUNK, THE 3.8 LITER LS VERSION IS REALLY FUN. I LOVE HER BUT but but, I CAN NOT AFFORD TO KEEP HER. It was a nice fling, but an expensive lesson to learn."

"Well designed car with huge trunk that rear seat folds down can fit a surf board or lots of cargo. Large car but has weight of many medium size cars at only 3400# body has held up for 14 years with no rust. Nice mpg for a full size car. Feel very safe driving. Transmission very smooth but after fully warm starts shifting hard. Happened at around 110K miles. No easy fix."

"I had a 2003 Chevy Impala LS 3.8 V6 4 speed auto I like it gave me no trouble put 115,000 miles and traded for a 2007 Chevy Impala LT 2 with a 3.9 V6 4 speed auto which I liked Just as much and traded with 110,000 miles on it. I now I have a 2014 Chevy Impala with the 3.6 and 6 Speed auto. I enjoyed all 3 of my Impalas thus far."
