The 2012 Chevy Equinox compact SUV gains blind-spot mirrors on all trims, while Bluetooth is now standard on the LS trim. A rearview camera is added to the 1LT trim and a new 7-inch color touch-screen radio with USB port is made standard on 1LT, 2LT and LTZ. Later in the model year, Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment and safety system becomes available.
Amid GM's imposing SUV and pickup truck fleet is a vehicle massive not so much in size, but in importance. Honda, Toyota and Ford have tended to dominate the compact SUV market, and Chevrolet needs to make a big splash. With the Equinox, Chevrolet has a major player, a vehicle larger and more refined than the aging Ford Escape and offering a V6 engine, an important feature not found on the Honda CR-V. Available in front or all-wheel drive, with a wide and roomy interior and loaded with standard and optional features demanded by today's modern mobile family, the Equinox is one of Chevrolet's best offerings.

"I have been completely satisfied with my Equinox. I now have 15 months of driving, approx 23k miles. Runs great, zero problems. I love the interior styling of this vehicle. I have the LT1 level, I now wish I had upgraded to the LT2 or LTZ level (I am really a cheapskate when buying a car). I use in business (real estate), with lots of peeps in the car. Most of the time I use as mini office, lunch room, etc, so interior comfort is really important for me. Clean up of interior has been great, I forget name of cleaner I use, but I hit the interior with spray bottle and cloth every couple of months... looks like new again. I have a choice of vehicle to drive every day, I pick the Equinox over my 2005 Mercedes C230 every day. Let my kid drive the other one, I prefer the great gas milage, height on road to see over other cars, and the R O O M inside. Recommend you place the Equinox on your buy list."

"Well I just got her tonight, and I must say I am very impressed. Got the 2lt 4-banger with black and titanium leather, rear dvd system. The interior is really what sold me on it, plus was looking for better gas mileage(traded 06 Ram 14 mpg.) I will be happy if I average 24-28 mpg. Just needed something with good economy and a decent back seat for the kids. I also have yukon xl for any of the major hauling duties. It actually has more features than the yukon, for the same price as what I paid for the yukon. I will say good luck to anyone trying to wheel and deal on these, I got $1500 in rebates and could only manage $500 off msrp."

"Bought the vehicle in August with the cash for clunkers program and got a 1000.00 rebate and a 750.00 usaa discount with a good discount from the dealer in atlanta. The Equinox standsout and is very comfortable, the gas milage is better when not in the eco mode and I average around 32mph at 60 mph and around town about 25mph. GM as a hit with this car and anyone buying a CUV should really concider this vehicle since GM stepped up its warranty to 100,000 miles. I have to say I am very satisfied with the new Equinox."
