"After reporting the timing chain ticking at 50,000, finally got it repaired, only to have it go bad again after only 10,000 miles, and GM will not repair again, as seems to be an ongoing issue with these engines. Metal timing chains on plastic rollers is NOT a good idea. The same engine was in the Cadillac and recalled. Why are they not doing anything about this issue in the Equinox's , and Acadia's?"
Pros: "comfortable, reliable, fun to drive, sporty, decen"
Cons: "cup holders are too low, no usb port in radio"

"When I first bought it, the dealership neglected to inform me of some vehicular ailments such as the rotors and such. I reported them to the BBB. After I paid almost $700 to have it fixed by someone else, I can truly say that this truck runs very well and I love it!! I haven't had any trouble since I had it fixed...and it is over 10 years old. I think I did good."
"I bought the Equinox used because it was so cheap. I was in a hurry, so I really didn't choose it carefully. One thing I like to do is drive with my windows down- not a problem on the majority of vehicles. The front windows of the Equinox however stop an inch short of being fully down. So your arm is resting on the glass- not comfortable. The cup holder is under the gear shiftier. The stereo has too much base (music mode selection instead of a bass adjustment). The plastics fade in the sun. It has way too wide of a turn radius. About the only thing I'm happy with is that the engine (which is made in China)does not have a belt- it's a chain. Hope to soon trade this in for a Explorer."
"I really enjoyed driving this for the past 7 yrs. Great in snow & sandy trails, peppy, lots of room. Did have some front-end issues, but all clear at last inspection 5/15. It also has only very minimal surface rust after a decade in Michigan!"
