Pros: "Dependable, gas miser, low maintenance"

Cons: "Torque converter common problem with these cars"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"Bought the car used in 1998. She had 23K miles and drove her at 170K miles never had trouble with the car the only problem was expensive be torque converter other than that had everything original. The car did get 30 MPG wasn't all comfortable but reliable workhorse called the Terminator Machine because she never died even outlast some cars my relatives and friends bought new. It had the 3100 V6 ran peppy bit smoother really loved my girl know she is doing someone else well too. Overall I never took into shop for nothing but regular maintenance and oil changes no oil leak or overheating this car was bulletproof believe one of the best cars ever owned. It even drove through flooded highway without a problem didn't get stuck plus car had anti lock brakes and freezing ice cold ac ran like a new vehicle."

"I have had this car since 2004 and have put it to the test. It has been so extremely reliable up to this point with 196,000 miles. The head gasket started leaking and a week later I hit a deer. If you find one with low miles, get it. I did have the v6 which is a must."

Pros: "Extremely affordable, easy driver, reliable"

Cons: "not very pretty"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought a '92 Corsica in 2007 that had ~155K miles on it for $500. The car was bought new by my friends dad and went through him and 2 of his sons before I got it after it had been sitting in the yard for a few months. The power steering was shot and it didn't have reverse or AC, but it ran like a champ (forward, at least). I beat the mess out of that car, as everyone tends to do with their first, but it never let me down. The only thing I ever had to replace in the ~40k I put on her aside from brakes/tires/battery were the brake lines which busted when some old lady slammed to a stop in front of me. The lines were dried out and busted open, but it was a cheap fix. It had a 4-banger in it which was great for gas mileage, but not as great for passing people on the highway. Cosmetic problems included a cracked, dry rotted dash on the passenger side and chipping paint. It seems like the white paint used on those models didn't hold up very well as I've seen several in similar condition, but the darker paints have held up well. I lost the car due to some unfortunate circumstances but I fully believe it would still be running to this day if I hadn't. I'm so confident about that, in fact, that I plan on buying another one ('95 model) next week if all goes well. If you're considering buying a first car for yourself or your teenager, I highly recommend a Corsica. Every one I've seen just refuses to die, and with regular maintenance will easily outlast 200,000 miles."
