"I purchase this truck new in 2007. Overall it has been a good truck with only minor issues (so far). A transmission sensor failed while under warranty so dealer fixed it and no more problems with that. For the last 20,000 miles the check engine light has been on. Autozone checked and said it was a fuel solenoid but since it has not caused any serious issues in the performance of the truck, I have not carried it in to the dealer. For the last 10,000 miles the check TPM light has come on. Carried it to the dealer and they reset the TPM. That worked for about 10 minutes after I left the dealer. Now I just let the sensors flash and don't worry about them. Another issue is the anti-theft sensor. About every 3 months the truck will fail to start and the anti-theft sensor will flash. I let the truck sit for 10 minutes and then it starts. This seems to be a common problem with Colorados and something Chevy should do a recall on but I know they won't. I wish the vehicle had less sensors. They only seem to cause problems. I get around 20 MPG which is not bad but could be better. It has plenty of power but a little extra cab space would be nice. Other than that, I have only added gas and oil. Even with the issues I mentioned, I don't see myself trading off my Colorado unless I it starts giving me some serious problems."
"I own a rarer 2009 5.3L, 300hp, v-8 equipped colorado Lt. It has a ZQ8 suspension package. This has been the funnest, most surefooted vehicle I have ever owned. It has 56.000 miles with no mechanical issues whatsoever. The interior is a little on the cheap side. I think it is a very sharp looking exterior. I get a lot of looks and compliments."
Pros: "cheap to maintain, good mpg, reliable, looks good"
Cons: "paint is kind of cheap, CD player broke"

"ive had this truck for 4.5 years and the mileage has gone from 59K to 147K since ive had it. The only thing Ive needed done outside the routine maintenance is a new throttle body and a thermostat. It isnt particularly fun to drive and doesnt have a ton of power, but thats not something you can expect to get in a 2wd 5 cyl pickup truck. What it lacks in performance it makes up for in reliability and mpg. I also use it to tow an 18' aluminum boat and it does the job just fine, never had an issues pulling the boat up the ramp. I bought this truck because i needed something cheap to run but that could still do everything i needed it to as a pickup and it has been better than i could have hoped. Im currently looking to upgrade to a full size pickup but feel confident that my colorado could go for another 100k miles."
"I bought this truck used in 2007 with 54,000 miles on it as a sole vehicle for my family of 3 while my wife and I finished school. We have taken this truck to many different places and all kinds of roads and terrain throughout the west and it has handled it all very well with no problems. Our family has since grown to 5 people and the truck now has 177,000 miles on it and is still running great. I take this truck on small/narrow, rough mountain and desert roads fairly frequently as well as on snow and it does everything I need it to with no drama. I use it to go camping, hunting, fishing and haul my mountain bike to the trails as well as hauling dirt, rocks and other large loads and it does it all. I have moved twice with it and it has hauled a lot of our stuff including a good sized trailer with no issues. This truck has the 3.5L 5 cylinder engine and has gotten decent mileage over the years (18-20 mpg city/rural and 23 mpg highway @ 60 mph). I still get 20 mpg at 80 mph on the interstate.
I have had some minor issues with the electrical system, Colorados are notorious for this I guess, all of which I have been able to fix myself thanks to the internet. Everything else has been awesome. All of the repairs that it has needed have all been pretty minor and I have been able to repair myself (U-joints, fuel pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, spark plugs).
The only things I don't really like about it is the interior space particularly the leg room in the driver's seat. The seat is too low to the floor. But then again it's a small truck.
Overall, this has been the best vehicle I have ever owned so far. It has been super reliable it has never let me down."
Cons: "Whish I'd bought the long bed for hauling."

"My truck has never let me down on the highway or city streets! My 95 year od Dad can get in and out easily so I don't have to help him. I drive every day and all ways go out of the way just to enjoy driving it!"
