Not worth what I paid for it.

I owned and sold this car
Reason: Not impressed - My approximate mileage is 15,000

Pros: "Bluetooth, USB plug,"

Cons: "small engine, doesn't hold its value"

"I went to the dealership looking at the Chevy Equinox and was directed to the Captiva instead. It had everything I wanted as far as interior specifications went (bluetooth, mp3 capable, usb port). I believe I was excited to be upgrading that I didn't really test drive it long enough to see why I wouldn't like it. I went from a V6 engine, to a 4 cylinder engine. The first weekend I had it, we went on a road trip and it sounded like the engine was going to fall out of it when we were trying to make it up a hill. The engine is noisy when you try to pick up speed. And only 15000 miles into I have already had to replace multiple parts because the driver seat was poorly designed, and the plastic siding snaps off easily. The dash board lights flicker as I am driving, so I know there is going to be wiring problems later on down the road. The engine sometimes feels like its going to stall out when I am picking up speed. It jumps, and I know there's a term for it, but I'm not sure what it is. I paid $24,000 for the car, and after 5 months and 6,000 miles, the dealer told me It wasn't even worth $16,000. If you don't mind having a slower vehicle, this is a good car, with the exceptions that the seat parts break often. Also, if you don't want a car that is too big, it is nice."

Great value and reliability

"Me and my wife when to a local chevy dealer to buy a low mile equinox and when the car we were interested in was sold the dealer asked us to come look at a 2012 captiva. Captiva? What is a Captiva? When we seen the car we were very impressed. We actually liked it better then the equinox. The car only had 7500 miles on it and was originally a fleet car so we got an amazing price on it. We have kids and this car is built very solid and is perfect for anything a kid can throw at it. The gas mileage is great and the ride is smooth. Don't get me wrong it is not a fast or powerful car but it has plenty of power and speed for everyday driving. I will give up the power for the gas mileage any day. Overall if you are looking for a practical car with great value check this car out."

A pain in the knee

I don't own this car

Pros: "Stable gives driver confidance of being in control"

Cons: "Center console hits right at knee"

"I rented this vehicle and the car overall is very nice easy to drive and is very steady in rain and snow conditions. My only problem is with the center console shifter area, the edge is squared and hard and rested right at my knee. for short trips no problem but after 250-300 miles I started to have pain from the sharp edge. They (the engineers)sould either narrow the console or round the edge and pad it."

BEST SUV EVER EVEN BETER THAN A Equinox or blazer
