An adequate vehicle for in-town use.

Pros: "Adequate in that the vehicle meets basic needs."

Cons: "accelleration--less than stellar gas mileage"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2

"My Chevy Aveo LT is a vehicle equal to daily use in and around town. Its little 4-cylinder engine looks like a bread box. The car is OK on gas, averaging 23 mpg around town. The ride is poor overall, making you familiar with every small irregularity in the road surface. It's rather like sitting on a box of rocks as you drive. The cabin has adequate room for my 6'3", but is noisy. Steering is OK. Accelleration is poor--probably because of the little 4 cylinder front wheel drive power train. I wouldn't want to take this car on a cross-country trip, but it is adequate--barely--for around-town transport. VERY basic transportation."

Pros: "Great Econo car"

Cons: "No A/C"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have had this car for 9 years when I bought it from the dealer. It has had only minor inexpensive repairs. The only thing I wish I had with this car is A/C but I opted out of it in the purchase. It is a no frills economy car that has worked wonder driving me up and down the west coast. 37 miles per gallon on the freeway and even manages well in the snow."

"I paid well over what this car was worth, I bought it with 54,000 miles on it at $12,000 and now with 73,000 miles on it, it's worth $5,001 trade in or $6,275 at private seller value. I have put more into repairs than I should have to for a new car that I am still paying on. Like I said, it would be a good first car for someone who is still learning to drive. I do not have power windows, power locks, but I for some reason have automatic start."

Pros: "Small hood, easy turns, nice exterior"

Cons: "Small Trunk, mechanical problems, light vehicle"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"I hate my 2010 Chevy Aveo, It is a 2010 and has manual locks and crank windows. I've had so many problems, and I take care of my car as regulated. Fuses going out, cracks in the engine, O2 sensor has gone out 3 times in 2 years. I have to put in new headlights every 5-8 weeks. The number 3 on my a/c has gone out twice. The car is very light, I feel so unsafe in the snow, winter tires or not people hate driving my car in the snow/ice. Just overall disappointed with this purchase. It's turning into a money pit and it's only been 4 years! I have 2 payments left and I'm trading in this car. I do love the small hood I can weave in and out of traffic easily, and parking is a breeze!"

Pros: "easy to drive. Great for around town driving."

Cons: "Not the greatest for highway driving."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"It was a good little car for getting around in. I would recommend this car to a friend who want ed something for normal use. The only thing that could be better would be for highway driving, but then most small cars are not made for that anyway"

"Bought this new and is my daily driver mostly to and from work. The only real issues I've had are: 1) The digital clock. It was replaced under warranty and I have since replaced it again. 2) The original front brake pads were annoyingly noisy. I replaced them with Raybestos at 15,000 miles and solved the problem. 3) Camshaft position sensor failed at about 50,0000. This was the only expensive repair I've had - about $165. 4) Fuel cap required replacement. This car is nothing special, but has been very reliable and economical. When I bought it I compared to Echo and Fit, but I was able to buy the Aveo for about $5000 less. I can easily get over 30 MPG in city driving by keeping my foot out of it. The car is certainly nothing fancy or luxurious, but that's not why it exists. The only convenience feature I miss is remote keyless entry, especially when it's raining. If I were to sell it now for average KBB price, this car would be without a doubt the most economical new car I've ever owned."
