I own this car - My approximate mileage is 150,000

Pros: "perfect in winter, dependable, fun to drive, safe"

Cons: "cant think of any"

"I have two of these trucks, 2004 (150000 miles) and 2008 (30000 miles) no problems ever, they are the best. I have a bad back and drive 1 hr to work and 1 hr back and it is so comfortable it does not bother my back like other vehicles. I have also been hit a couple times by other vehicles with absolutly no injury to myself. This is most important to me is that myself and family can feel safe and have dependablility."

Just what I was looking for!

Pros: "Quiet"

Cons: "A bit pricey at sticker...(negotiate)..."

"Had a 2011 Silverado with 4100 miles and was VERY disappointed. Dealer couldn't resolve my concerns so my wheels began turning... We also have a Tahoe. Loved the Tahoe and the Avalanche is built on the same chassis. Traded for the Avalanche... and it is amazing. Ride quality, transmission shift quality, etc, all are phenomenal. The Avalanche bed is just the right size and I still can haul full sheets of plywood/drywall if I need to. The 5.3 runs smooth and strong. The 6 speed transmission transitions thru the gears without jerks or noises. I have the benefits of a truck with the comfort of a SUV. Couldn't ask for more. I love the quiet and smooth. Gas mileage is OK. About 19 mixed between city/highway. Bought the LS model and it comes decently equipped. I will be adding a couple of dealer installed options soon though. Love it! Best vehicle decision I've made since we bought our Tahoe."

Third Avalanche I've owned- wonderful truck!!!!

Pros: "Comfort and ride with the smooth ride suspension"

Cons: "None really; gas mileage is between 15-22 mpg"

"Bought my first Avalanche in the depths of recession in 2008. Traded it in on my 2011 because I like to change vehicles on a regular schedule. Would have kept it one more year, except the impending end of production made me order a 2013 LS Black Diamond in Fairway Green and the tan interior. Picked it up on Nov. 1, 2012. From the photos and scuttlebutt on the internet, I was afraid it would look kind of flashy; believe me this color is great! Much more metallic and a deeper green than the factory photos show. I love it and can only hope it is as reliable as both of my other Avalanches have been! Best Chevrolet ever produced."

My Second Avalance - Sorry to See Them Go

Pros: "Beautiful (metallic green) comfortable, luxurious."

Cons: "Of course, gas mileage."

"Our 2002 Avalanche needed a new transmission after 190,000 miles. It's not our primary vehicle but we had to decide whether to put $3,000 into that truck or buy a new one. Man, am I glad that we got the 2013. We loved the 2002 but the new Avalanche is unbelievable. All of the comforts of a Tahoe but 10 grand less in price. I'm a tall guy and I love the comfort. Probably the last time I'll be able to get something like this. Still, I'm going to be sad to see the old one go. Put an ad on craigslist to sell it, as is, 190K miles, bad transmission for $3500 and I am getting killed with e-mails to see it. Might have to rethink the price and ask for more. Hoping to make this one last for a LONG time."

Best truck ever owned!!

"I am picking up my third and sadly "Final" Avalanche. I own a construction company, I have owned every type and model of truck for 40 years. I fell in love with the first one in 2006, then another 2010, now 2013 picking up tomorrow. I plan on keeping "forever" because GM will have a tough act to follow to replace the Avalanche!!"
