Pros: "Very versatile! nice ride, good looks, has it all"

Cons: "Can't think of any?"

"Bought my Avalanche new in 2003 and have never looked back. Will probably drive it until the wheels fall off (have 105K now)because to replace with something comparable will cost $70,000+ and I still might not like it as much. It was either get the Avalanche in '03' or spend an extra 12- $14,000 (at that time)and get a Escalade EXT. When the only difference in the two one has a Cadillac emblem and comes standard with everything while the other is optioned out to the max, is a Chevy but still realized the above mentioned savings. It has been a great truck. Very versatile with the folding rear seats and 'midgate' extending the bed to full size. The hard 3 piece bed cover is fantastic. You can stand on it, being 3 piece you take off just how much you want, or typically leave it all on. The step in the rear bumper makes for easy very on and off. In 2003 it still had the cladding which I like. Don't have to worry about door dings, scratches or rust. Gas mileage isn't great with overall 14mpg but if you want to go the speed limit can get 18mpg on the highway which isn't bad. Full time 4 wheel drive hi & low, 2 wheel drive or automatic and let the computer decide to enable 4 wheel when you need it the most. Just a nice truck and would buy another one in a heartbeat. Rides nice, looks good, and very comfortable inside. Don't know why GM quit making them?"

Dependable and versatile.

Pros: "Solid Truck, So much to offer, Very fun to drive"

"I have owned my 2006 Avalanche for almost 10 years. This truck has been through it all and has never let me down. Other than some minor driver door dents, this truck still looks great.I have only had a few minor repairs and I think a recall repair years ago. I have always been worried about the long winters causing rust, but the only thing that has rusted was the muffler. My Avalanche does feel like it is getting a little out dated but it just wouldn't be the same without it."

"i bought my avalanche used from a private party with 65000 miles it had a great southern comfort conversion done to it where the top was a very dark blue and faded to silver at the bottom with lighted running boards all the bells and whistles th best thing about it is it is a SUV most of the time but when you NEED a truck the midgate folds down and you have a full 8 foot bed i also love the "saddlebags" on one side i have the tools like jumper cables tow strap rope tie downs a tarp some spare food (mres)a rather extensive tool kit and an axe on the other side is my cooler i keep water bottles some soda and such great on a hot day to open the saddle bag an have a cold drink just waiting for you"

"2003 Chevy Alva,205,000 miles...Love this truck so much.Wish GM would start making them again, but with the same high qaulity that they put in them the first time.We have looked to trade our's in a few times,But always back out do to the fact i can not part with my beloved truck...i have owned may differnt cars & trucks, but have never been as in love or proud of them as iam this truck..In the end we have decided to keep this truck and just add a2nd vehicle.IF ONLY GM WOULD MAKE THE AVALANCHE AGAIN I WOULD BUY A NEW ONE TO GO WITH THIS ONE....So PLEASE GM"

Pros: "Awesome vehicle, cruising in it, utility,"

Cons: "Gauge went squirrelly; gas mileage"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"The best vehicle I have owned. Hard to believe that a 4wd truck is so quiet, comfortable, and a joy to drive. Well designed. Great family car, bought it for the 4 doors. Great for vacations! GM got this one right. Only problemso far was instrument gauge motors going out, cost $150 to replace."
