I own this car - My approximate mileage is 70,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Versatility"
Cons: "Taking seats out is hard"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I have this Astro van for 14-1/2 years and it so great with kids and the versatility is awesome. Take the seats out for hauling stuff. Take out one seat and its perfect for skiing. You can stand up inside the car and walk to the back. You're not stuck in one place. LOVE THIS CAR!!!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 144,950
overall rating 7 of 10rating detailsPros: "THE ASTRO V-6 DOES GREAT UP THE MOUNTAINS."
Cons: "IT DOES EAT UP THE GAS. 40.00 A WEEK"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I'M NOT VERY SATISFIED WITH THE COMFORT AND CLASSY INTERRIOR ASPECT. IT'S RATHER PLAIN. TO BASIC, NOTHING SPECIAL. THE MAJOR TROUBLE I HAVE NOTICED, AS I HAVE WITH OTHER CHEVY'S IS THE RUST PROBLEM'S UNDER THE DOOR PANELS. ALSO THE SIDE DOOR RUNNER INSIDE AND UNDER. THE HEATER PIPING COMPLETLY RUSTED OFF FOR THE REAR OF THE VAN. I AM ONE TO KEEP THE SALT OFF OF MY VEHICLES IN THE WINTER TO. I BELEAVE THE CHEVROLET COMPANY NEEDS TO UNDERCOAT THEIR AUTOMOBILES, OR USE HIGHER GUALITY PARTS."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 148,818
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "AWD, Anti-lock brakes, tough, practical"
Cons: "rear cargo door, tiny cupholders won't take medium"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8
"Bought as a used vehicle 9 years ago for a field-service vehicle and never regretted it. Put ladders on the roof-rack. In regular tires, it got crew & tools up muddy or icy mountain roads with deep potholes in Alaska. 140,000 miles & it never needed major work. PROS: Very tolerant, flexible, tough vehicle. Electrical and telecom contractors buy up these used passenger vans for a reason. AWD and ABS do a great job on poor roads. Power and reliability are good. Controls are predictable. CONS: Cup holder design barely fits a small soda can. "Small" and "Medium" drive-thru cups are too tall and interfere with the dashboard over-hang. What was Chevy thinking? Not a fan of the rear cargo door "system." It's three small Dutch-style doors, taking valuable time and effort to open/close when time is critical or your hands are full. Dodge and Ford "got it right" using one large hatch for a rear cargo door that can be opened with one partially-occupied hand."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 135,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsLikely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I have owned four Astros since 1986, and so sad that Chevrolet chose to discontinue the model in 2002. I made sure I had a 2002 and now it has 135,000 miles, I feel I need to find something new. But I cannot find anything I even remotely like for hauling several people, lots of stuff, like golf clubs, skim or boogie boards, food for a week, luggage for 6 people. Very good visibility, 380 degree views when traveling in pretty scenery. Does really well in mountains. When I bought my first one, I had 3 college kids and it was great in moving them to and from college. Then I wound up with 5 grandkids by the time I bought my fourth one. Two in infant seats and the rest in the back seats. Room for all of them. Now 4 teen aged grandsons. Room for all of us to travel. No other vehicle as versatile. Can haul small furniture items from stores, can take seats out and put a full bed in for camping. Just nothing like it for versatility and all 4 have been very reliable. Why oh why, did Chevy discontinue it."

I owned and sold this car
Reason: Very little that didn't go wrong with it. - My approximate mileage is 92,000
Pros: "Beautiful exterior, comfortable interior, roomy."
Cons: "Unreliable and awful on gas."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1
"I have only owned Chevy's....my favorite vehicle was my 1988 Corsica....but, this vehicle killed it for me. It was a beautiful van and the interior was extremely comfortable and it was fun to drive, but that is as far as it goes. It was not reliable for me, at all. With only 50,000 miles, I had to have the transmission replaced. I am a hockey mom and I did not drive it hard, got regular maintenance and took good care of it. The heat and air conditioning stopped functioning when it was 6 years old. The electronic locks only worked in half of the doors and I had both window motors replaced when it was only 2. By the time I sold it, it needed way too much work. It was very roomy and it looked great, but the gas mileage was a killer and it was just unreliable for me. I sold it and bought myself a Camry, which I love."
