"No better truck for the value. 400,000 miles and this truck will drag Dad's Limited Tundra across the field, pull a trailer loaded with concrete blocks and scoot me down the freeway. Low horsepower(196) and high torque(385 ft lbs.) make this truck great on fuel and and easy on drivetrain components. Bot from a logging company with 327,000 miles...they said it was inexpensive to maintain but thought it was wore out."
"This pickup get about 13 miles to the gallon but has a 30 gallon gas tank on it. I just rebuilt the transmition and it has less then 1200 miles on it. The motor doesnt use any oil. four low and four hight works exellant. Running bourds are in good condition. shifts very well with the five speed manual."
"nice truck. I have owned one for years and I put it to work. Towing, hauling, pulling, loading, you name it I do it. The truck has never given me one bit of serious trouble and it has 150k miles on a 6.5 turbo diesel. Starts and runs like the day I bought it.
The only negatives I see is it is very difficult to get into the extended cab (rear seat) and the headlight lenses yellow quickly. Since the headlights are one piece it's a pretty expensive and needless repair."
"I bought the truck used with 24,000 miles on it two years ago stuck a set of BF Goodrich commercial ta traction tires on it and have yet to been able to get it stuck.
The truck has had a fuel pump problem but since repair has been great. i have towed several ford products out of the mud with it."
"this truck is very nice looking but we had extreme trouble with the transmission, after OVER TEN times at a well known transmission company it finaly shifts ok. we also had alot of trouble with the diesel engine just shuting off. would not buy another truck like this because of all the trouble we had with it. still can not get the heater to blow warm air. the truck is good on gas mileage."
"my father bought this new and passed it down to me almost 3 years ago. it has never let me down and i plan on driving this truck for many many more years. 6.5 diesel is the best american made truck out there!!"
"I own the SRW version of this truck and I love it! The towing capacity is superb for being an older truck. The ride quality is a little stiff but thats to be expected for a one ton truck. As long as the truck is taken care of it'll take care of you."
"I bought this truck in 2004 from original owner and have put 50k on it and it still is beautiful and great dependable truck for hauling my camper and horse trailer to mountains, horse events, or shows. A new truck like it would probably be $37k. Taking care of your vechicle and respecting your property keeps your investment your pride for years."
"Ivedriven this vehicle sinceit was bought new.
Ive never had it let me down on the road.It has cold air, 2 new front tires but needs four on the rear. Right rear fender needs some repair after a tire threw a cap off an broke the fender. equipped with gooseneck hookup including the brake control. It has 87000 miles on it today after I got home from work. It has been very dependablefor me since I bought it new in jacksonville."
