MINI Report 06: The Vegas Shuttle

Posted 11/24/2008 3:31 PM

It would be easy to overlook the MINI as a good long-hauler, but after two LA-to-Vegas runs in less than two months, our long-term Cooper S further validated the car's inclusion on our list of Best Road Trip Cars for 2007. The seats are supportive, which pays dividends after a few hours in the saddle through the California and Nevada desert, and its tall sixth gear and ample torque make it easy to keep up with eager, Vegas-bound traffic. For treks of a few hundred miles, it turns out that a good seat and plenty of power are all you really need. (Pictured: Our MINI in Baker, California, "The Gateway to Death Valley."
