As if powerful performance and superb EPA highway gas mileage estimates weren't enough, BMW's newest diesel offerings qualify for IRS tax credits. Buyers are eligible to receive up to $900 for the 335d Sedan and up to $1,800 for the X5 xDrive 35d Sport Activity Vehicle. These BMW models produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions and burn less fuel, but unlike hybrids, these diesels don't sacrifice driving pleasure to be green. Both are capable of going from zero to 60 mph in the six-second range, travel for nearly 600 miles on one tank of gas and are available at your local BMW dealer. So for those who find the respective $43,900 and $51,200 price tags for the 335d and X5 xDrive 35d affordable, a non-stop 500-mile road trip may be in your future.
