Britax Child Safety, Inc. has recalled certain versions of its Frontier child restraint, says the U.S. government. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administation (NHTSA), the straps on the restraint could fail to properly secure its occupant in a crash. Britax says the seats' shoulder straps may come free if repeatedly loosened one strap at a time and will provide owners with a repair kit. Some 30,000 restraints are involved recall. For more details, contact Britax at 800/683-2045, go to www.frontierrecall.com or call NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline 888/327-4236. Also, parents and caregivers can sign up to receive alerts from NHTSA about recalls of child seats at www.safercar.gov.
