Adding a bit more performance character to another member of its U.S. lineup, the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Turbo R-Line was unveiled in Chicago. Like its Coupe counterpart, the latest R-Line entry will feature a selection of well-focused cosmetic and functional enhancements.

Exterior changes to the Beetle Convertible Turbo R-Line include Bi-Xenon headlamps, LED running lights and an R-Line grille badge complemented by 19-inch aluminum wheels that mount 235/40 low-profile tires. Cabin upgrades include leather-covered sport seats, "metallic-finish" dash and door trim, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom R-Line multi-function steering wheel, stainless-steel R-Line scuff plates and aluminum sport pedals. The R-Line cabrio also will come with the primo 400-watt Fender Premium Audio System, VW's RNS 315 navigation package and Keyless Access with push-button start. The 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Turbo R-Line will arrive in dealer later this year. Pricing will be announced closer to the actual on-sale date.
