Ready to roll into showrooms later this year, the 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition was unveiled in Geneva. Only 1,000 total units of this introductory variant will be produced, with half of that run headed to America. This new mid-engine Alfa GT Coupe will be offered in two colors, Carrera Red or Alfa White. Each will feature a number of distinctive touches to set it apart from the 4Cs that will follow.

Highlighting the cosmetic tweaks on the 4C Launch Editions are a carbon fiber aero kit with a composite rear spoiler, Bi-LED headlamps, a dark-tinted aluminum rear diffuser as well as color-keyed front air intakes and brake calipers. Functional enhancements include a racing exhaust system, custom BMC air cleaner and an upgraded suspension package that includes recalibrated shock absorbers and a bespoke rear anti-roll bar.
Like all Alfa Romeo 4C models, the Launch Editions feature lightweight carbon fiber/composite construction and will be fitted with a new 1.8-liter direct-injected turbocharged four that makes 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Backed by Alfa's paddle-shifted 6-speed TCT twin-dry-clutch sequential automated transmission that features a multi-mode program selector on the steering wheel, it can send the roughly 2,000-pound 4C streaking to 62 mph in less than 5.0 seconds.
