Resurrecting a legendary name in the annals of the division, the 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona makes its public debut in Los Angeles and will be arriving at Dodge dealerships across the country during the first quarter of next year. Available as a package on both the Charger R/T ($2,995) and R/T Road & Track ($2,500) models, Dodge will limit production of these Daytona-spec vehicles to 2,500 total units for the U.S. market.
Offered in Daytona Blue, Bright White, Billet Silver or Pitch Black, visual impact on Charger Daytona models gets a signature boost through the addition of a Satin Black grille and black trim elements found on the vinyl hood graphic, roof wrap and rear spoiler. These are set off by a "Daytona" graphic on the rear quarter panels and exclusive 20-inch/5-spoke polished aluminum wheels that feature Gloss Black painted pockets.
Although the Charger R/T's standard 370-horsepower/5.7-liter Hemi V8 and 5-speed Auto Stick automatic transmission remain unchanged, these Daytona-spec versions will come with a 'Daytona Blue' engine cover. Even those spun from the Charger R/T get the steering-wheel mounted aluminum paddle shifters, performance engine/transmission calibration and high-speed engine controller used on the Road & Track model, as well as its deeper 3.06:1 rear-axle ratio.
Covered in cloth on the R/T and Nappa leather with suede on the R/T Road & Track, the sport seats in this elite Charger duo are rendered in black with Daytona Blue contrast stitching. Other cabin highlights include dark brushed aluminum accent trim on the dash and console, a Mopar bright pedal kit, 552-watt/10-speaker Beats Audio System and a numbered "DAYTONA" badge on the instrument panel that indicates its sequence in the build series.
Pricing for the 2013 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona starts at $33,895 while the 2013 R/T Road &Track Daytona opens at $37,490.
