Latest of its model lines to benefit from what's become a tremendously successful style and content enhancement, the 2013 Chrysler Town and Country S minivan makes its debut in Los Angeles and will arrive in dealers here next summer. Like the existing Chrysler 200 and 300 S-spec variants, the new Town & Country S is most easily recognized by its unique exterior trim elements. Here, those highlights include a black chrome grille and accents, 17-inch alloy wheels with polished faces and black-painted pockets and special "S" badging.

The look of distinction carries over to the cabin of this upline 7-passenger people mover. Black Torino leather covers the seats that also feature black Ballistic cloth inserts while the headliner, console and leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel also get the "noir" treatment, which is complemented by Piano Black accent trim and a bevy of "S" badges. Among the many upline standards on the new Chrysler Town & Country S is a segment-exclusive dual-screen Blu-Ray DVD entertainment system that now brings higher-resolution displays, dual USB recharging ports and a 115V AC power outlet.

Although the powertrain elements in the Town & Country S are carried over unchanged - a 3.6-liter/283-horsepower Pentastar V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels - the suspension tuning does get a minor tweaking that "adds a new level of handling dynamics" without impacting ride quality. Like all 2013 Town & Country models, it also expands the extensive list of standard safety features with a
new trailer sway damping system.

"We tailored the new Town & Country S for the active and style-minded consumers. It's the downtown style for the Town & Country's uptown looks," noted Saad Chehab, president and CEO-Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. Pricing for the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country S will start at $32,990.
