The people have spoken, and according to a survey conducted by audio giant Pioneer Electronics, Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again" emerged as the top vote getter in the firm's first-ever "Favorite Road Trip Song" survey conducted in association with Harris Interactive. Nelson's modern-day classic grabbed top billing from 27 percent of the 2,738 adults who participated. Filling out the remainder of Top 10 were "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf, "Take it Easy" by the Eagles, "I Get Around" by The Beach Boys, "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC, "Free Falling" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. "Riders on the Storm" by The Doors,
"I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night," by Kiss, "Wanted: Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi and "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
According to Pioneer, the polling did reveal a couple of interesting regional and demographic variations. Respondents in the Northeast and males in general actually favored "Born to be Wild" while individuals between 18-34 and those who never had been married put "Highway to Hell" at the top of their preference list.
