A striking one-off that reportedly has very real production potential, the Peugeot 208 GTi Concept is based on the new-gen three-door 208 hatch and resurrects the classic high-performance themes last seen in the iconic 205 GTi. Beneath its hood, the Peugeot 208 GTi Concept packs a gasoline-fired 1.6-liter turbocharged four that makes 197 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque in current production form and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. To enhance its dynamic capabilities, the 208 GTi Concept boasts a full sport suspension, wider front/rear track dimensions, upsized disc brakes set off by red-painted calipers and custom 18-inch wheels shod with performance tires.
Helping this raucous red raider look the part from curbside is a full body kit that includes edgier fascias, aero-tweaked lower bodywork and custom side sills along with a unique mesh grille insert, rear decklid spoiler, dual chrome exhaust outlets and a bevy of assorted badges. Inside, the 208 GTi Concept's sport seats are trimmed in dark Nappa leather with grippy cloth center inserts that feature an embossed tartan motif. Rounding out the revamp are grey Alcantara on the dash and door panels, an all-black headliner, small-diameter flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals, LED-backlit instrumentation and special graduated red-to-black treatment on the center console.
