Previewing a near-future production model suitable for personal or business use, the electric-powered Nissan e-NV200 Concept made its first appearance in Detroit. Based on the current NV200 light commercial van and finished in the Nissan LEAF's signature Aqua Blue, the e-NV200 Concept displays number of bespoke cosmetic tweaks, from its "Nissan EV-look" front fascia with LED accent lights and a LEAF-style charging port beneath the Nissan logo to revised greenhouse graphics, 16-inch alloy wheels and dual glass roof panels. Inside the roomy and easily reconfigurable cabin, the e-NV200 Concept features dedicated EV instrumentation highlighted by an advanced telematics system and a flat "C-cluster" display that looks and acts much like a conventional tablet computer.

The front-drive Nissan e-NV200 Concept also shares basic powertrain components with the production Nissan LEAF. Its AC electric motor that turns out 107 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque is energized by a 24kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Nissan is currently evaluating a small fleet of electric-powered NV200s in several cities around the globe and gathering practical feedback that will help shape the final design elements for a volume-build version of this pure EV variant.
